Very nice!
I love using this rice paper. Very good quality, reasonably priced. Perfect for pulling prints for collage.

Good and cheap Japanese rice paper
This rice paper is perfect to practice Sumi ink. To start with, I like its texture, and it is a good quality too. Furthermore, on this support, the ink does not spread too much so it ruins your work when you paint contrarily to the sheets I had bought somewhere else a few month ago (it was not on Amazon). I will probably buy more in the future. Rice paper is a great and pleasant support to paint on,I recommend it as a different experiment. I like, for instance, to paint illustrations on it, and then to use it to wrap my friends's gifts, it is really nice and different. 100sheets Japanese Chinese Caligraphy Rice Paper #1932 .

I like this as a practice paper for Chinese Brush Painting
I am learning Chinese Brush Painting after doing watercolors for several years, and I purchased this for practice paper. It is not quite as thick as my 'better' rice paper, (it feels about the same weight as tracing paper and is semi-translucent), but it does have a similar appearance and absorbancy as the heavier and more expensive paper. As a result, it reacts to the water, paint, and ink in a similar manner, so it is a very good surface for practice. At this price I have no hesitation about using the paper or worries about making mistakes or wasting a sheet, so I can relax and practice my brush strokes or color loading and see what the results would look like in a finished painting. When it dries, this paper does wrinkle and 'draw up' a bit more than the heavier paper, but again, for practice work this isn't a problem. I haven't tried to mount any of this paper to see if that would reduce the wrinkling and make a decent finished product, but as my skills improve, I might play around with the mounting process just to see what happens. This product meets my needs very well, so I would definitely recommend it as a practice paper for anyone learning Sumi-e or Chinese Brush Painting.

Great for Sumi but Not Suminagashi
As a whole this is not bad paper, especially for the price. The biggest thing one should be aware of is that this paper is extremely delicate. While this is not too much of an issue for dry mediums such as charcoal, chalk pastels, and such, one must be careful in using liquid mediums. This does work for sumi ink but one must exercise caution so as not to bog down the paper with too much, as this will warp the paper and increase the likelihood that it will tear. On a personal note, I originally bought this paper to practice suminagashi with since it was a recommended product on the boku-undo Aitoh Boku-Undo Suminagashi Marbling Kit - Boku-Undo Suminagashi Marbling Kit suminagshi ink product page. While this paper absorbs the ink well, unfortunately it does not have the integrity to withstand water exposure. Consequently, when placed on the surface of water it becomes like soggy tissue paper and almost certainly will warp and tear if not handled with the precision of a robot. Finally, one of the best attributes about this paper is it's extreme transparency. This lends itself to a wide arrange of applications which one would not normally be able to utilize in a heavier paper. All in all, this is a solid paper to use so long as it's not used for the purpose of Suminagashi.

nice paper but.....
this is nice paper but not what I needed. I was looking for a light weight paper to use for Gel Plate printing. This paper is light weight and has a soft smooth texture but does not hold up well to several layers of paint. I will use this paper for other projects just not for the project I purchased it for

A joy to use
Itโs really really smooth to write on with brushes, if you know what youโre doing. It also absorbs ink remarkably fast, so itโs a joy to do japanese or Chinese calligraphy on. Be sure to put something under it, as it will bleed a bit (itโs very thin and delicate). Also, after using it with brushes loaded with lots of ink, be sure to put it under even pressure for a couple hours right after it dries. Otherwise, it will quickly start to warp and crinkle. To avoid warping, Iโve found you have to immediately put it under pressure and leave it for a while (books, lots of paper, boxes, etc.) no complaints, itโs a joy to use after you get used to itโs properties.

used it to make paper lanterns
As title says, and it worked very well for that purpose. We mixed water and flour in a bowl, dipped strips of rice paper in it, and stuck them around a balloon. I did not use it for food or cake but I will add that if I left it in the water for more than 2 seconds it dissolved, so I think it will work for cake too. I plan to use it to make notes. The pack comes with 100 sheets, but rice paper is of course super thin. Very much happy with my purchase (

Paper is too thin.
Even when I thicken the ink as much as I can, it still bleeds through. I suspect the paper is too thin. Itโs truly disappointing.

Dont buy
Disappointed. The size is too small. And the quality is poor. Packaging was terrible. Received torn and bent sheets.
