Amazing Texture and feel
This piece of leather arrived rolled up in a cotton bag inside a plastic wrapper. The leather color is very much like the photos of the products - with a smooth texture of brown leather with shades of pale showing through. I like the feel of the leather - it is hard enough to make it easy for crafting and soft to touch. I plan to use this for leg socks for my chairs to avoid scratching floors - the stickers felt are not working for me. Over all this seems like a great buy - I would buy again.

2 Square Feet of Tanned Full Grain Medium Cowhide Leather - Bourbon Brown
I enjoy woodworking and my hobby is lapidary so right off I have to say I am at best amateur at any leatherworking. I wanted to try my hand at tooling a piece of leather so got this 12" x 24" full grain natural cowhide tanned leather sheet which is "Bourbon Brown" stained. The Seller offers various colors and sizes. The sheet is about 2mm thick and has a smooth and rough side with only a small defect in staining (P.4). The leather had no cuts or other defects and was otherwise very uniform in thickness with great suppleness. I'll enjoy working with this.I Recommend this Cuoio by UMAS Brand Tooling Leather Material, Cowhide Heavy Real Leather Sheets for Craft, Tanned Raw Full Grain Genuine Leather Pieces for Leather Work, 12x24 Bourbon Brown 1.8mm-2.0mm PreCut Thick Leather. Just what I wanted to try my hand at leatherwork!I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

Soft and supple and attractive
I use leather mainly for covering the grip on the bows and quivers I make as a hobby and also for making sheathes for axes and knives. The description of this leather as “Buffalo hide tooling leather works that require rawhide sheet leather and leather sides for tooling and … for knife sheath making” suggested that it would be good for those applications. It’s actually far too soft for that. It is certainly attractive, and very supple, and I think better applications would be those that require a lot of flexibility and don’t require abrasion resistance or stiffness. It marks very easily, and as you can see in the photo, what looks like a permanent crease was left by the string tied around it when it arrived. I think it might be perfect for a pair of baby moccasins.

WOW
Hubby is just getting into leather working and he is hesitant to cut into full sheets of leather for fear of ruining it.When I saw these "scraps" I knew he would be more comfortable practicing with them. These are billed as scraps but WOW! These are beautiful, really nice sized pieces of leather. We were amazed at the quality, the size and the price. We will definitely order these again and again. These leather pieces will be perfect for braided bracelets, earrings and so much more. You won't be disappointed with these leather scraps. We absolutely love them.10+ stars on this great value.I hope this helps you.

Used some of the leather with my laser engraver
I have been learning to use a laser engraver and have tried paper, very thin (nearly veneer) wood to some wood disks and then this leather to understand how to adjust the laser's power and closeness to the material in order to understand how to get the engraving I want on the product I'm using. This leather is thinner or maybe I should say it is about medium thickness for leather, but the thing is that this, being leather, works up differently under the laser than paper or wood (both cellulose products where this is an animal product). I am thinking of using leather like this as a journal cover and engraving/embossing an image and/or fancy initials to personalize items I am making for gifts and to sell. This leather is pretty and I will be getting more to work with for my journal projects.
