Steve Madden Women's Troopa 2.0 Combat Boot

i LOVE these boots! the quality is sooooooo nice. i always wear a sz 8 so i decided to order 8's even though i heard they run large - i thought i'd wear socks if they were too roomy. but when they arrived, they were VERY long and so i returned them and amazon promptly sent me a 7.5 which are perfect - i wear them with thin (-ish) socks and they are fine. i have a narrow foot and they fit great, i think a wide foot would need a size up. i love everything about this boot. i will wear them for years. they are very well made, love the cognac color, nice soles for colorado weather, can lace all the way up or just part way. perfect to wear over skinny jeans or under boot cut. perfect for dress and tights. perfect for everything!

These are my favorite boots. The shine is really nice and some of the layers in the sole are real leather. The part that touches the ground is rubber or something else, but really well made. So they hold their shape very nicely and are just very comfortable. They have some arch support, but not a lot. I could easily see wearing all day, either dressing up or down. I have had so, so many compliments. It's easy to look classy and retro with these boots. They are well made and I expect them to last for years. I had doubts that the side zipper would work out and cause problems, but it's actually really a clever move. I can get in and out of the boots and there is no rubbing of the zipper on my skin. I'm telling you, these are really fantastic boots. I liked them so much that I bought another pair in brown, with the rear zip. But these are my favorites. When I have a tough day of things to take care of at work, these put my mind in the right frame to get the task complete and done well!

I actually really love these boots. The material is quality, they're comfortable, the fit is good. They're not heavy at all, even though they look like they would be. This color is a really great reddish brown, and they'd look good with dresses and leggings or jeans.Sadly, I'm returning them because they're not what I wanted. I was looking for something a little more delicate. I was after something more Victorian England than government issue. As I meantioned, I do really like them, but for almost $90, they needed to be exactly what I wanted.Also, I noticed in another review that the reviewer questioned whether or not these are actually Steve Maddens. I think they are, but there is some confusion. A search on the Steve Madden website turns up the "Troopa 2-0", on the Macy's website, they're listed as the "Tropa 2.0". The listing here is for the TrOOpa, but the inside of the boot itself says TrOpa, but the box says TrOOpa. That is a little weird, and could lead someone to believe they're counterfeit. I think it's probably just a mistake somewhere in the manufacturing/marketing chain, though.

These boots are so comfortable and are not clunky at all! I find they run true to size. In some Madden styles I need an 8, like the Lauuren boot but the 7.5 fits well in Troopa with room for light or mid-weight socks. I have Cognac, Stone and Wine in the Troopa 2 , and Brown and Burgundy in the original Troopa. The Stone and Cognac Troopa 2 feels like more of a nubuck/suede type leather whereas the wine is a soft, smooth leather, very nice! The colors are true to the photos. Stone is my favorite - a beautiful neutral neutral. Some people have described the Cognac as a "muddy" brown, but I personally love it more than the darker brown of the original Troopa. Here's what I don't like about these boots: the nubuck type leather stains easily. Water will dry without incident but there is an oil stain (maybe from my hand lotion?) on one of the Cognac boots and a stain from what I think was a wet Swiffer pad, on the Stone. I tried and tried to rub them out and am hoping the stains will eventually absorb into the leather. I bought these on sale with gift cards added which makes it a lot less painful but I wasn't expecting this to happen to brand new boots so soon into wear. Despite the mishaps, they are nice enough that I ordered backup pairs at the Black Friday prices, since this boot is a classic Steve Madden and will still be in style when I completely trash the first pairs (shouldn't take too long with all the walking I do!) Edited to add that the stains did indeed absorb and are barely noticeable but my Lab accidentally peed on one of the Stone boots so yeah, backups are definitely required! I can walk for miles in these boots.

I LOVE these boots! I am a line dancer and wanted some boots that were stylish and comfortable. I have a narrow foot and bought a size 9 1/2. I can wear a medium width. I usually am unable to find my size and have to order a 10. These boots fit my feet perfectly and did not need a "breaking in" period. They were comfortable from day one. The tops of the back did rub my calf slightly during dancing and walking the first couple of wears but no real discomfort. A few of my friends ordered them because of my recommendation. They did not disappoint!

These are the exact boot I was looking for! I tried to order a cheaper pair that looked similar, but that was a disaster! These are All leather with very durable laces and good quality stitching. The side zipper is of great quality as well. I usually wear between a 7.5 and 8 shoe. I ordered the 8 knowing I would be wearing thicker boot socks with them. They fit perfect. The first day I wore them they were stiff, but the second day they were more comfortable. There is really no arch support in these boots, but than can be fixed with an insert. If you have a wide or thick foot, I would suggest a different boot. As I said before, they fit perfect -no wiggle room. These boots will be in my closet for many years, the more I wear them the cooler, more vintage, they will look!

Beautiful boots and they do fit true to size. If you have a wide foot they will be tight. When they first arrived I considered sending back for a 1/2 size larger, but I think there is a real potential for them being too big if you go with that option and the reason why is because the ankle does already have some wiggle room. Rather than exchange what I chose to do was apply a little "Foot Matters Professional Shoe Stretch" spray. It is available here on Amazon for about $10. Just spray and wear. It will stretch the leather just the right amount to fit comfortably to your foot. You can test the spray on the tongue of the boot if you are concerned, but I can attest that it did not discolor at all when I used it. Very happy I decided to go with these boots and not a cheaper similar looking brand. They are well made and should last for years (fingers crossed). They have a slightly higher heel that just gives a more feminine appearance without it being uncomfortable at all. Zippers are very smooth and strong. I would recommend.
