The option I chose allowed for two cooling fans rather than just one, so bought these for the job. They work exactly as required and give good airflow Review: Improved air flow to cool printer hot-end - One thing I have disliked about my printer is the tiny little fan over the hot end, it's too small to work effectively and it doesn't work well for long before it starts to vibrate and clog. Keeping the thing clean is an exersize in frustration due to the tiny fans on the contraption. Only solution, get better fans. These are definitely better fans. Now, I did have to poke around on Thingiverse to get a new mount, cover and duct for both of these as the existing cover is too small to easily fit 40mm fans. But, that is a small inconvenience to put up with for better cooling and quieter operation. Once I had the new case and ducts printed it was a short job to replace the existing fans with these. Now, it is worth noting that these come with almost a metre of cable attached to them - which is considerably more than I needed. If you are comfortable with a soldering iron, or adding your own clip mounts that should not be a problem. If you aren't comfortable doing that, I would suggest you look for a different fan that has what you need already attached. Once fitted, I turned the machine on and... these are much quieter than the original fans, by a long way. Still audible, and not quiet by any stretch of the imagination, these are "quieter" than the originals. But, the big thing is the amount of air these push around. The head is chilled where it should be, with a new vent around the brass tip the pla cools better and it's all rather nice. Definitely worth the money for the change from rattling grinding fans and constantly watching the hot end temperature so I don't suffer pre-melt in the feed. Hopefully these will last for a while, as I don't want to start another endless scheme of replacing things every couple of months. I initially only needed a single fan, but picked up this kit so I'd have a few spares. I have now swapped to these fans for all my 40mm and 4010 fans. There's plenty of extra cable length, so I was able to route it through my cable tidy and solder it to the mainboard with ease.
