ProrasoBeard Care Duo Kit for New or Short Beards with Beard Balm and Wash

I hesitate to write reviews of scented items. They are, by the nature of the product, very subjective. Please keep that in mind as you read. My experience may not be yours.I love Proraso shaving cream. Since I don't shave any more, I thought I would give this a try.The good stuff.... The product packaging is very nice and attractive. The shampoo and beard balm both do their jobs well. I would prefer a plastic container for the shampoo rather than the glass. I used the product in a tile shower so I was concerned about breakage. The beard balm is nice and did a good job softening my beard. I really liked that.The bad stuff.... The scent is very strong and very unpleasant. And it will stay with you at least 24 hours. The scent reminds me of a strong liniment like Salonpas. Most importantly, my wife did not like it at all. If she ain't happy, no one is!

Love the lime scent! I use the beard wash as a body wash instead because the scent is that good!

This duo kit for your beard which contains beard balm and beard wash would make a great gift. I've been using it for myself and find the beard wash to be really nice. It's interesting to use something other than a standard shampoo on your beard. After i'm done shampooing and rinsing I typically always follow up with the beard balm. The beard balm is a little thick and tacky and makes your beard smooth/look fuller. The only problem I have with these beard products is I don't like the smell of either one. This is problematic because the beard is very close to the nose. The scent is woody and spicy, I think it's the spice scent that I find off putting.

My partner really likes old-school men's toiletries and we have often come across Proraso products in hipster barbershops around the world. His feedback was that the beard wash smelled really nice and spicy, much like the original 'Old Spice' types of products that our grandfathers used. However, he also said that the beard balm had a bit of a tacky texture that left a sticky residue on his palms, which made him a bit reticent about having that texture on his face. The balm also had a slightly unpleasant minty note to the smell. Ultimately it did leave the hairs feeling very soft, and had the effect of reducing itchiness from growing out his beard, which is what the balm is mainly intended for. The box kit was nicely packaged with vintage branding, and made for a nice little gift for No-Shave November.

Popped open this kit as soon as it arrived, everything smells good, makes my beard look more bold than ever. I can’t comment on how it stacks up to other beard products, as I’ve used very few, but it works well and that’s all that matters!

This Proraso Beard Care Duo Kit has a very outdoorsy scent. The beard wash and beard balm work really good. They make my partners beard look much better after he uses both of them. The beard wash lathers up well and it gets his beard nice and clean. When I applied the balm to his beard, it looked more sleek and defined. It was also softer and smoother. This set would make a nice gift for anyone that likes to groom their beard.

The wash and balm are not bad products, mind you. I just was not really impressed. I researched most of the ingredients for both products and they were not bad ingredients, in fact they have some very good ingredients. However, I would rather use all natural products if they are available. I was interested in seeing how these products delt with my course bristlely short beard. The wash did well enough. The balm is thinner than I expected it to be. All I use is a dab - I put my finger over the opening of the bottle and tilt the bottle to get the dab. I then rub my hands together to spread it evenly and then spread it over my beard. I will sometimes add another dab if needed. I then brush my beard to even the balm out. It does moisturize my beard but it feels a little oily compared to the Big Crazy Buffalo balm I now use.

The beard wash is probably my favorite of the 2, it has a nice aroma which reminds me a bit of frankincense. It's a little liquidy at first but foams up well and works reall well.The beard balm is also nice but I don't perfer the smell as much. This has a bit more of a mint aroma and tingles a little bit when applying it. The fact that you have to pour it out of the bottle makes it a little tough to get the right amount and sometimes I just get too much and have extra.The packaging is very nice and this would make a great gift for anyone with a beard.
