Pipal Knit Blocking Mats - Ultra Sturdy, Thick and Lightweight - Complete with 4 Combs, 100 T-pins and Reusable Storage Bag

My first attempt at blocking needlepoint, huge tapestry so I needed a versatile block. I should've followed the photo in the description for the layout as I felt like I was doing some mindbending krypton factor puzzle laying it out! You can see from my photos I did it wrong hence the puzzle of lining up the lines and not getting the width I wanted to block 2 tapestries at the same time (I didn't look at the diagram until writing this review!). The blocks are thick and come with lots of pins and I was able to align my work nicely along the guides. I think I'll get a lot of years out of this set (certainly at the speed I stitch!) Fits and stores neatly in its zipped bag.

Item itself is great, unfortunately the bag was open and both 94 of the blocking pins and all of the combs were missing. Amazon resolved this for me however.Be sure to check items on receipt as this is a great deal unless you then need to buy more accessories.

Love these blocking mats. Great price and were exactly what I needed. Blocked 16 20cm crochet squares in one go! Pack them away nice and tidy in their carry bag. Would definitely recommend.

I often wondered if I actually needed a blocking board but have come to the conclusion that it is money well spent. Very useful when items are a little uneven around the edges. Saved me from frogging almost a weeks worth of work on a baby blanket just by wetting the edges and pinning it in place using the T-bar pins. Blanket edges were straight enough to crochet a nice border.The one niggle though: The boards are numbered but do not line up in sequence. Ended up with No 2 next to No 9 etc. Trial and error, but the lines help to get the boards in the correct order to allow for pinning a straight edge.

This is a great pack with interconnecting squares which can be connected together to make different sizes to suit needs. Pack comes with T pins and combs to block your makes

Bought a number of sets for my wife's blocking project (One set of 9 gives a small square just over a metre square)RUSTY PINS - Horror to find some of the "stainless steel" pins have RUSTED and left rust on the fabric being pinned. What? these are meant to be STAINLESS steelBAD GRID LINES - The grid lines also do NOT line up between rows. Putting them together in a row of 3 works (1-2-3 all look good) same as 4-5-6 and 7-8-9. Now try added 4-5-6 under 1-2-3 they do not match up (the square aren't square and the line do not meet.CONCLUSION -1) be careful of rusty pins (keep your cloth/fabric dry near the pins)2) use the grid as rough guides (ignore the seams where they meet).3) do NOT mix and match different sets of these blocking mats - ALL the grids are different and some have thin blocks).NOT impressed Pipal - another outsourced product made at low cost and sold for a high price!!!

I have used these for 2 projects now and found them invaluable especially as they come with the pins. Couldn't be without them.
