Reasonably priced display model
I was looking for a model of the shuttle in full stack configuration at a reasaonable price. Most of the ones (full stack) listed are very expensive being made of wood. I saw this listing and ordered it. I was very pleased with this item. Shape is good, the size is perfect at approximately 1/200 scale, detailing is quite good considering the cost. The addition of the launch support structure is a very nice plus. As I purchased this for a static display, I cannot attest to how robust it would be as a children's toy, however, it seems to be quite solid. That being said, this item is not perfect. The main fuel tank is rendered in a rather bright orange, which is not correct as the real item is closer to a brown color. A model builder could correct this easily with the correct color of (acrylic) paint, if one wished. The shuttle cargo bay doors are perhaps the biggest issue. They are a bit oversized and don't sit closed properly. There is a gap, as seen in the listing photo. Thus can be corrected by a judicious amount of sanding on the mating surfaces. Once this is done, the doors will close as they should. There is a rather nice payload included in the cargo bay, If one wishes to display the shuttle with the doors open. The shuttle can be separated from the boosters and tank and reassambled by sturdy attachments. For the price, this full stack shuttle is rather surprising. It might be intended to be a children's toy, but it will look really good on a shelf along with other spacecraft models as the construction and detailing belies the modest cost.

A realistic little toy!
This toy is highly detailed. I have a small problem actually calling it a toy. It is more like a model. My daughter loves it, and she pretend she's out in space with it. This is of course exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend this product. When you put all the pieces together it does look like the old shuttle on the spacepad ready to launch. It's too bad we don't have the program anymore as a country.

looks good, durable
Ship is metal, rocket boosters are cheap plastic, but it works ok. Astronauts do not fit in shuttle, but just stand around on their base and are too small. IMO the only thing worth it is the shuttle itself: looks good, durable.

Expensive for quality of toy
PERFECT for science fair projects (10 STARS for that) but NOT great as a toy set (3 STARS for its appearance and for the Shuttle and astronauts being something kids will love).Kids won't think about the things I will mention below but, as a toy, this item is pricey for the quality and design. We bought our first set for display purposes then purchased this second set as a gift. The cargo bay doors on the first set were just slightly off (unlike the rest of the shuttle, they are plastic) but the doors on this set were noticeably warped and had larger gaps. It wouldn't work as a display item.1. The shuttle isn't simple for kids to align, place, or keep on the booster rockets or platform so the idea of including the launch system is a bit of a wash if purchasing this set as a toy.2. The booster rockets are cheap plastic and probably won't last for child's play so, again, a wash.3. The cargo doors are thicker plastic but warped and misaligned to different degrees.4. The cargo doors don't stay closed on their own and the satellite 'boom' arm is pointless (may as well toss it since the satellite is part of the molded cargo bay interior and not moveable). The kids will love playing with the shuttle more than anything so maybe find this shuttle in a less expensive set? This same shuttle appears to be offered by several sellers without the booster rockets and platform. The astronauts were fine but I can't see a good reason to pay extra for the booster rockets and platform if this is a gift for a child. If you want an inexpensive display item for yourself or an older child, it's fine if you happen to get one with cargo doors that aren't poorly fitted. It would be even better if you painted the main rocket a more rust-colored orange. It's PERFECT for science fair displays/projects and fun presentations (more accurate scale models are expensive and require paint, glue, and talent for assembly). I'd give it TEN stars for that! But if you are looking for a child's toy, which it seems most people are, I would skip the added expense of the rockets and platform because they don't function well for play.

I love the product
I love the product. I saw a lot of negative reviews and was skeptical. It is a fun TOY, the box clearly states for 3yrs and up. If you want realistic detail then prepare to pay well over $200. It is fun, cool, and it can be played with. It is a good purchase. Thanks Daron/Realtoy for this product.

"KID'S MEAL" TOY QUALITY - CHEAP JUNK
The shuttle doors are flimsy plastic and the tiny plastic hinge for them broke off within a few minutes of being played with. The rocket boosters are the thinnest plastic you can imagine, the kind of junk you get free with a kid's meal.I would pay $10 at most for this. For $30+, I expect something a lot sturdier, that can actually be played with by a little kid.

Really Cool Model w/ Details
This thing is really cool and a great model. As an Aerospace Engineer I worked on the Space Shuttle. Actually I worked aeroheating on the orbiter and acoustic testing of the solid rocket boosters flying backwards at supersonic speeds. My current company built the external tanks. I saw mission 41-C launch while leaning on a Launch Fire Truck. I'm impressed with this model and wanted to buy something to remember this exciting period in my life.
