Both have the standard 1.25" extension opening. I got the Dirt Devil vacuum recently and it came with no extra accessories, just the metal extension tube and floor head -- and my Eureka only had a short crevice tool as an extra. None of that is really helpful with something like cleaning out a car or dealing with hard to reach places or upholstery, so I decided to see what accessories were available. I almost bought the set of 7 or 8 different brushes, and still might later, but I decided on this set first instead. I figured the 12 feet of extra hose would be really useful, and I'm in love with it. I can get up on a step stool to vacuum the top of cabinets and the vacuum stays on the floor where it belongs! No more vacuuming with one hand, holding the vacuum in the other, while trying not to fall. It's also great in my narrow bathroom where the vacuum stays out in the hall instead of getting under my feet. And I just discovered I don't need to unplug my vacuum and plug it into another socket to reach the other half of my (small) house anymore. Does that make me lazy? (No. I'm vacuuming aren't I?) As for the rest of the attachments: 1) It has a two part plastic extension tube. I've had one like it for years and like it better than metal. It's lighter and doesn't leave gouges in your floor or paint when you are going after dust bunnies or cobwebs and get a bit enthusiastic. 2) it has a 9" crevice tool. 3) It has a round dusting brush which looks to be made out of horse hair or the like. (all the brushes use the same material as bristles). It's quite soft since the bristles are long. It's great for dusting smooth furniture. It isn't the best for *years* of dust on a rough surface like the top of my bathroom shelves though. Just kind of rolls the dust up into balls in that case. That's when I moved onto 4) The upholstery head? It's 5.5" wide, has short tight bristles at the back and smooth groves at the front. That handled the unfinished (unseen) top of my shelves perfectly. It would probably be my go-to brush for upholstery and car cleaning too. I'll probably wear it out first. 5) The wide floor brush...it's definitely a hard floor brush. It doesn't work well on woven carpets because it drags on the rug, I doubt it would do anything at all for a pile carpet, but on hard floors I like it better than the floor head that came with the vacuum cleaner. It's better at picking up debris. My only complaints are the dusting brush opening on the one I got isn't perfectly round so I have to squeeze the sides to put it on, and the pictures for this product aren't right. Close but no cigar. I'm really happy with what I ended up with though. Review: Great value for the money - My old hose had worn out and was taped up multiple times before I had just had it and decided to purchase a new hose. This set is a great value for the cost. I didn't really need all of the attachments, but it's nice to have new ones of those, too. Hose is slightly thinner plastic than my original Riccar hose, but feels sturdy and as if it will withstand my minimal vacuuming needs.
