eeBoo: Animal Village Create a Story Pre-Literacy Cards, 36 Cards with Colorful Characters, Encourages Imagination, for Ages 3 and up

I bought this for my sons 5 & 8. We play this a couple of different ways. One way is for each person to take a card and make up a story about that card, and then the next person takes a card and builds onto the story. You also can lay all the cards out and build a sequential story. This card set is excellent for language development, memory recall, preparing for creative writing, as well as sparking the child's imagination! I could also see this as an excellent tool for play therapy, allowing the child to use the cards to talk about their feelings or perhaps what's going on in their life. Both of my sons truly enjoy playing with these, and it's fun to see where their imaginations lead their verbal storytelling. This set is fine for either boys or girls, it is gender neutral. The illustrations are colorful and engaging, showing many different characters, but at least three cards with the same character to allow a good story flow throughout the entire set. A few cards show all of the characters together doing different things, as is show on the box cover. A great price for a great purpose!

These are super durable & the art is amazing. Randomly picking the shuffled cards & telling different stories is super fun & feeds a child’s creativity. They’re a tiny bit bigger than a deck of cards. Totally worth the money!

I bought these originally because I really love Stephanie Graegin's illustrations and love games from this genre. The cards really are beautiful as expected and strudy, but it is hard to make a comprehensive story out of them. Many of them relate only loosely to one another. You can still talk about what you see in every card but not exactly to make a story.

Due to my husband losing his job, I recently decided to home school my preschool aged daughter to save money. I spent what I would have spent on one months worth of preschool tuition and bought a huge amount of teaching aids (all tax deductible, I might add). These made it into the mix and have been well worth it!!! They are fun, easy to use, and really inspire a kids creativity! In fact, I nanny and home school two of the kids along with my daughter and they both love these as well! There are several other eeBoo "Tell Me A Story" card lines that I may consider purchasing as well. The kids love picking cards and using the pictures to let their imaginations run wild as they tell stories! I love how it helps them flex their creative muscles and learn several other really useful skills during the day! By far, our "story time" is one of the favorites of the kids I teach and mine too, thanks to these cards!

Of the different games we have, Candyland, Memory, Go Fish, Guess Who, and even most of the apps on our iPhone, this is our favorite one. My three year old and I both love this game, her for the entertainment, and me both for it's educational value and the amount of fun we have playing it. I felt that I wasn't very good at making up stories, but my daughter was always asking for a new story. This game has helped us both become far better story tellers. I am amazed at the stories that both of us are able to make up. If you want to encourage your child to love reading, this is a great place to give them a love for stories. If they love something, they will be very motivated to learn. It improves their memory as you have the kids repeat stories. And their creativity just blossoms. I can't recommend this highly enough. Rather than take a lot of heavy books on the road, I take this small box of cards. It does take up a lot of space when you actually play, so it is better to spread them out on a hotel bed rather than in the airplane. I bought the Fairy Tale Mix-up for a friend, and she said the card didn't have as many different items in each picture. She found it was harder to make up new stories without the various items that the Forest Story Cards contained.

These have been such a hit since they arrived last week, with both my four year old and two year old. We have used them at the dinner table to tell stories to each other just by looking at the beautiful art. Such a fun and wonderful way to bring our family together to talk and create and tell stories to each other. Both my children feel so proud when they’ve told their little story. Definitely going to be completing the collection with the other sets and I do hope you create even more!

Ho acquistato questo set di carte (due, per la verità, essendo padre di due bambine gemelle) come aiuto allo sviluppo dell'immaginazione e del linguaggio. L'utilità di questo articolo è proprio quello di spingere il bambino a raccontare storie sempre diverse usando carte con diversi personaggi e ambientazioni, cambiandone semplicemente l'ordine. In un mondo in cui gran parte degli stimoli vengono da TV e computer, è necessario riscoprire la bellezza dell'invenzione di storie e della loro narrazione a voce. La geniale collana "Tell Me a Story" di eeBoo ha una serie di temi diversi e tutti molto affascinanti e giocosi: Circus Adventures, Robot's Mission, Animal Village, etc. Ognuno può quindi scegliere il tema che più si avvicina all'interesse del bambino. Io ho scelto "Fairytale Mix-ups" perchè parla di regine, streghe, fatine, magie e principi: il tema preferito dalle mie figlie. Devo dire che la scelta è stata molto azzeccata. E' bello vederle impegnate nell'immaginare scenari sempre diversi e raccontarle con termini sempre più appropriati e proprietà di linguaggio sempre migliore. Il set di carte è ottimamente confezionato. Arriva con una protezione in cellophane. La confezione si apre a cassetto, ossia sfilando la parte che contiene il pacco di carte. Questo è di ottima qualità, con figure belle e colorate, dai disegni giocosi e personaggi ben caratterizzati. La plastica è rigida ed è davvero difficile piegare e rovinare le carte, se non con un uso evidentemente improprio. Un'idea davvero fantasiosa che merita di essere regalata a qualsiasi bambino.

Fun for the whole family.

Brilliant set of cards. Great for children to form stories with a beginning, middle and end. My 4 year old selects cards, lays them in the sequence she wants then tells her story. Some are hilarious, some a repeat of traditional tales or ones I have made up. They are a challenge to my imagination as well when she picks cards for me to turn into a story. Great for traveling too. Would make a perfect gift/stocking filler. Am considering others in the range.

Molto stimolante sia per bambini che per adulti. I soggetti sono vari e spesso accomunati dalle vicende raffigurate. In ogni immagine ci sono dettagli da non sottovalutare. Il mio bambino di 5 anni ne è entusiasta. Ottimo per introdurre il concetto di narrazione e sequenze.
