It's steam distilled and is extracted from tree bark. I wanted a good quality oil, and this didn't let me down. Peru balsam oil has a number of uses. Firstly though, a warning: people with sensitive skin should use this sparingly, in a carrier oil base, because it can produce a reaction. However, used properly, it is efficacious in treating wounds, skin ailments, asthma, even scabies. It can be used for dental problems too, though I prefer not to risk it internally.
