The wavelength is right and seems to help with SAD. It is plenty bright for its intended purpose. (I'm not sure why the other person was annoyed. It has a metallic outer coating and fits a regular light bulb socket. It doesn't seem to get too hot. (not cool mind you, but it definitely won't cause any issues.)
