Good option of the 4 I've tried
I have tried 4 types of vegan jerky. Here are my opinions: Louisville Vegan Jerky - 7/10 - Interesting flavors, some better, some worse, none bad. Softer than actual jerky. Overall pretty good. Soy based. Might buy these again. Primal Spirit Vegan Jerky - 4/10 - Bizarre flavors, some decent, some odd, some absolutely awful, and many do not taste like what they're labeled as. Very odd consistency, stringy yet also very tough, not at all like actual jerky. Wet / "basted" in the packet, soaked in liquid flavoring, sometimes drips out when opened. Hard to compare to actual jerky, more like it's own food type. Overall ... strange. Soy, gluten, mushroom based. Would never buy again. Noble Jerky - 8/10 - Good flavors, actually tasty. Decent consistency, sort of like very soft jerky. Similar to Louisville brand overall. Soy based. Have bought again. Best of the bunch. Beyond Meat - 6/10 - Closest consistency to actual jerky, chewy compared to the others. Flavors are charitably - bland, and uncharitably - not great. While the Primal Spirit brand has the *consistency* of shoe leather and flavors of nothing I've ever tasted before, the Beyond Meat brand has the consistency of actual jerky but at times the *flavor* of shoe leather. I'm betting the pea protein used in these does not help here. NOT soy based. Mung bean and pea protein based. Would not buy again.

By far, the best flavor and consistency in a plant-based jerky
I was a jerky fan before I gave up meat and it was one of the few things I missed afterwards. I have tried 8 different plant-based jerky treats over the past few months, and I have to say this brand is the best by a long margin, in my opinion. Now, I know taste and essentially, the type of jerky you like, is a very subjective thing. So, I will try to break it down so that you can make up your own mind. - I found the salt level to be present, but not overwhelming. Some flavors are saltier than others, but I never had that feeling that my tongue was coated, or that all the moisture in my mouth had been sucked out. - Warning, this is a very moist jerky. I know some people like ones that are very dry and you need to physically rip it apart to eat it. This is not one of those. - I found the texture to be the most meat like, in a good way. The pieces vary in size, but they are easily consumable and it feels more like a grilled chicken breast texture. I have had a few that are drier, and in the process of eating, the protein got stringy and jammed in my gums. A few of the mushroom based ones are a lot better in that regard, but they seem slightly rubbery. This has just the right amount of chewy to be pleasant, without making you chew until the flavor is gone, or wondering what it's made of. - None of these have eye-watering levels of heat. I know some really enjoy that, but that is not what this product is. The Buffalo Dill is the spiciest of this collection. It has a good heat that will linger in your mouth for a bit, but I never found it overwhelming. The Perfect Pepperoni is the next spiciest, followed by the Smoked Black Pepper. The Maple Bacon and Southern Carolina BBQ are not spicy at all. - Not too sweet. I found 4 of the 5 to be sweet to varying degrees. I like that, but fair warning to those who don't. Still, it isn't so sweet that you think you are eating something candied. Overall, a fantastic collection of flavors that I will definitely repurchase, and be looking for more flavors to come.

Even a meat eater will like these….
These are a bit more ‘tooth friendly’ than other plant based jerky I’ve tried - and frankly I prefer that. I don’t have to immediately floss after indulging as I did with the others. As to taste and texture? As I said, these are a bit softer than others - and also their shape is a bit different - they’re not as flat as others - some pieces are more rope-like in shape - and I again I prefer that as I think that makes them more easily chewed. As for taste? Outstanding. The first I tried was Buffalo Dill - reminiscent of Buffalo Chicken Wings - with just a hint of dill - and a little ‘kick’ at the end. On to the Maple Bacon - a nice hint of sweetness, a nice shot of smoke though I wouldn’t say strong bacon flavor. Smoky Carolina BBQ - my favorite. Hints of vinegar, hints of mustard, and a little bite at the end. Perfect Pepperoni - lives up to its name without the often greasy aspect of pepperoni while offering a lingering heat. Finally, Smoked Black Pepper - probably my least favorite - but by no means was it not enjoyed. It’s actually the mildest - with very little black pepper overtones. All in all, I will DEFINITELY buy these again - and see if they offer any other flavors. While a bit expensive, they offer us non meat eaters an option to indulge.

Amazing Vegan Alternative to Jerky.
I absolutely LOVE the taste of all of these! I literally could not believe how good these were considering they are vegan. It is hard to stop eating them. The only thing is the bags are small and they are really expensive. I would seriously keep this in my house every week if I could afford them. They really are delicious and I like to eat them as snacks on low carb days (I do carb cycling) and being a vegan it can be hard to find products that fit my low carb macros.

Sodium overload
The overall taste for all were satisfactory. The maple bacon is my favorite. Fortunately for me , I'm 60yrs old and don't take any medications. I'm not diabetic or have high blood pressure or anything going on negative with my health wise. I'm not a real picky eater, I just prefer cooking over dining out, always have. So I may be overly sensitive to added salt or sugar to food items. With that stated, I fould them all to be too salty to eat. The maple bacon was more tolerable. Mainly because the salt is offset by the added sugar. They would be a great meat jerky substitute, but for the salt. I certainly would never buy this again. Unfortunately I have to toss out $35.
