It is not going to get you a deep tan overnight like other products, it is designed to be buildable. I am fair and it took a few applications before it started to make me look tan. It never looked orange or streaky or unnatural. I think you would have to use way too much or do a bad job applying it to make that happen. The best part is that it is the least smelly tanning lotion I have ever used. Yes it smells very slightly like fake tanner, but only mildly and has a nice tropical scent. Every other tanning product I have used I feel like I have to shower off the smell before I go out into the world. With this stuff the smell is so minor you don't have to worry.
