To use these properly, you just need to push until the clips pop off. You still need to pull the switch apart afterwards but this requires very little effort. If you are pushing on the switch to the point the top housing just falls off, you are pushing too hard. I also chose this because it is plastic and not metal as to not scratch my switches as well as it being cheaper than pretty much any other option I found where the reviews weren’t people saying that it simply didn’t fit the switch it said it was for.
