It smells very good, very refreshing! It’s different from any aftershave or cologne I’ve used before. It’s very light not overpowering at all. The only negative is that it doesn’t stay with you very long, especially in hot weather and high humidity.

The American Blend is a unique scent that feels familiar even though it is an overall scent profile I have never smelled before. If Clubhouse smells like the 30s and 40’s, something about American Blend screams 50’s to me. These aftershaves are terrific for those who love the old-school stuff. Fine has breathed enough new life into the old classics to keep them interesting without just being re-hashes as well. Their soap is among the best I have used as well, I would put the formula/performance among top artisan houses such as B&M or Noble Otter. I imagine I will eventually try all of these scents. Love the post shave feel and scents of all the ones I have tried. Would rate higher than 5 if I could.

After reading a few other reviews, I ordered the Italian Citrus. As soon as you open the bottle the room is flooded with the scent of citrus and romance. I really don't know how to describe the scent other than to say it is absolutely amazing and very high-class--it makes you feel like you are sailing the Mediterranean on your yacht on a beautiful sunny day.The first time I wore it, my wife stopped dead in her tracks on the way out the door, turned, and said, "Wow, you smell so good." She lingered by me a few more moments before begrudgingly leaving for work. You will be sure to turn heads if you pick this scent, especially in the summertime.Beyond the female-attracting properties, the aftershave does an awesome job at cooling and toning your skin. The menthol stays cool on your face for nearly 30-45 minutes, and the scent lasts the whole day through.If you are unsure of what fragrance to try, you can go to Mr. Fine's website and get a sampler pack.*EDIT* Having done the sampler, here is a rundown on the other scents:American Blend--This scent is awesome. It is kind of a cross between Old Spice and Gillette Foamy Shaving Cream. A little spicy but very clean smelling. Several women have complimented this one.Fresh Vetiver--Wow, this is a great scent. Smokey, clean, and refreshing. Again, this one gets the seal of approval from the ladies.Clean Vetiver--I don't like this one nearly as much as the Fresh Vetiver. There is an added soapy scent that makes this one smell a little muddled.L'Orange Noir--Smells great in the bottle, but crappy on your skin. The scent is VERY heavy. If you like really heavy-handed scents, this one is for you. My wife took one whiff of this one on my and just said, "No."Savon Lavande--A clean lavender scent, but I don't like it. This is probably the least manly smelling of the lot

This really is FINE aftershave. Great post-shave performance, for example, cooling, toning, and leaving skin feeling refreshed. I got the Platinum scent as it is modeled after Creed's Aventus, which I have a sample of, love, and used for scent comparison. In terms of scent, this is definitely not a "cheap knock-off." To my nose, the smoky, fruit top-notes in Aventus are a bit more pronounced by comparison, but they're definitely there in the Fine Platinum. As the dry down occurs, the two scent profiles (Aventus and Fine Platinum) really start to merge, to the point I don't think I'd be able to distinguish unless I knew which one I had used. Silage and staying power are not as strong, BUT this is an aftershave. I still get a solid 3-4 hours, and this is a very friendly scent appropriate for any kind of setting, including work. I do have other aftershaves that have a stronger silage and lasting power, so I would give this the full five stars if Fine ever boosts the strength just a touch. It's pretty much perfect as is. Get it and I think you'll quickly find yourself using it in the morning, and touching up in the afternoon and evening as I do because it just feels good and smells awesome!

I have many after shaves and colognes. Some I like, some I don't. I LOVE the scent of this after shave! I understand it is based on a much more expensive scent. Maybe one day I will have an opportunity to compare but for now, this is enough for me. I like the way it feels as it goes on. There is a hint of the menthol coolness. That goes away within 60-90 seconds. Just enough to refresh. The scent is "high end" when it goes on and it stays for several hours. I like to put some on my forearms so I can get a whiff throughout the day. Eventually, I stop getting the whiffs unless I lift my arm to my nose for a sniff. That is, until later that evening when a whole new scent presents itself. And it too is a delightful, manly scent! So much so that the first time I smelled it, I asked the guy sitting nearby what the name of the cologne was that he was wearing. After he told me he wasn't wearing any cologne I realized it was me I was smelling.I liked this so much I have bought the L'Orange Noir and American Blend by Mr. Fine. Both of those are excellent as well. If you want to smell like a man, Mr. Fine is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

Love American Blend ("Givenchy") - love all of my Fine knocknoff scents (L'Orange Noir, Platinum, Fresh Vetiver, Clean Vetiver) for that matter.But _don't_ love the 169% price increase since I bought my still current bottle, in 2015 (for $19.99). [Shocker]Yeouch!
