Excellent Film!! Definitely a must watch!!
This is in my Top 3 Favorite Movies ever! Keanu is Brilliant playing the lead Constantine! This movie has several great actors in it, and they are brilliant as well!!! It’s not really a horror film, but more of a Thriller! There are a few graphic images but nothing too terrible! It’s just so interesting, and keeps you on the edge of your seat! I LOVE the plot and the great detail they go into! I’m still hoping for a sequel! Fingers crossed!I highly recommend watching this movie, especially if you are a Keanu Reeves fan!If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask me!

Does Constantine care about humanity enough to save it?
Keanu Reeves starred as Constantine. As a boy he saw demons which made him attempt suicide, which was a mortal sin under the Catholic Church. He temporarily went to hell but was brought back to be an agent of God to keep the balance between the forces of good and evil on the Earth. He runs into Detective Angela Dodson and the case of her sister who killed herself. As he got involved he noticed that abnormal events were occurring leading to a huge conflagration. Constantine was always very cynical about his work. He only did his job in an attempt to buy his way into Heaven. Detective Dodson made him ask how much he actually cared about humanity. There are certain roles that Reeves is perfect for and one of them was Constantine. The don’t give a damn attitude of the character fit Reeves like a glove. He would often smirk at people to show his disdain for them which was delivered perfectly. As Detective Dodson tells him he was rude no matter where he was.The story was also very strong. It mixed myth with the occult in a battle between God and the Devil. For instance, a possessed Mexican jumps the border fence into the U.S. and cows begin dying all around him. Later Constantine goes to church to talk to the Angel Gabriel (Tilda Swinton). At one point he even goes to Hell looking for Dodson’s sister. There’s action as well as Constantine has to fight demons. All together you had a very interesting plot along with some great acting by Reeves.C

Supernatural Creature-Hunter Organization
It's about an institutionalized war between Heaven and Hell. Angels literally fighting with demons. The Catholic Church is like Heaven's intelligence agency and is depicted as a creature-hunter organization. A stylized film that's very visually striking. In terms of the story -- well, you shouldn't expect much. The whole thing revolves around a hidden artifact, demons trying to enter the mortal plane, but there is one original concept which I can't reveal without spoiling it. The acting is great for the context. Super stylish and cool by 2005 standards, and still holds up well today. Movie kind of glamorizes smoking though; somehow it even makes getting lung cancer cool.

Video quality is fine, but major audio issues.
This is not a review of the movie, which is good. This review is specifically of this disc and packaging. The Blu Ray comes in the standard packaging and is fine. The video quality is also pretty good, probably a 9/10.The audio unfortunately has major problems. I had to put the volume more than twice as high as I normally do for watching a movie, and I finally resorted to the subtitles because a lot of the dialogue was still impossible to make out. 1/10, which is a real shame for a movie like this.

Why even call it Constantine?
Beyond wearing a tie and unbuttoning his top button, this has next to nothing to do with John Constantine and the Hellblazer comic. If you want good Constantine content, Matt Ryan is now basically the Kevin Conroy of John Constantines, with three absolutely stellar [animated] films, Justice League Dark, Justice League Dark: Apocalypse War, and City of Demons. We also have his TV show which was pretty alright, even though Vertigo content is too graphic for anything but HBO, Showtime or Cinemax. I became acquainted with Constantine through Swamp Thing, someone who is a bit more important to his mythos that you may think. He eventually went to star in Hellblazer which made names of big comic writers such as James Delano, Pete Milligram, and of course Garth Ennis. So it's a real shame to see a comic of such high quality get turned into such a boring, predictable film. This is basically End of Days with Arnold Schwarzenegger, with Keanu Reeves swapped in the main role.In the comics John Constantine is basically Merlin the magician, gallivanting throughout London, Great Britain, and even places like New York City, meeting demons and supernatural types along the way. Usually he is battling some imaginative demon. He's also frequently written as bisexual, and isn't in action hero shape. In this movie he's a exorcist for hire shuttled around by Shia LaBeouf. And not good Shia LaBeouf either, but rather the annoying Shia we got in Transformers. The plot is there, I guess. Most of the ancillary characters will put you to sleep. There is, however, one standout and that always amazing Peter Stormare as Satan. This is funny to me because Constantine doesn't revolve around Satan exclusively in the comics, but it seems like Hollywood's understanding of Demons always revolves around Judeo-Christian notions of God, and this movie is a good illustration of that misunderstanding. In the comics John's dealings with the occult involve all manners of religions and beliefs. This is something City of Demons handles well, incidentally also set in Los Angeles. They show Native American demons alongside "Christian" one and blur the lines between religions, rather than just enforcing one.God, this movie sucks. It's really uncreative. I can handle some changes - although this goes way, way too far - as long as they have some genuine imagination to them. This took a character with a lot of appeal, and rendered him to blandest, most paint-by-numbers interpretation possible. The casting of Keanu Reeves almost being a middle finger to the uniqueness of his source material counterpart.Maybe I can appreciate the somewhat cult following this film has developed. It to me seems like one of those average films people with shitty taste in movies think is cool. It's a visually interesting, but boring and bland film. I'm surprised people can watch it without falling asleep.
