Good and secure
Recently purchased a new vehicle with a spare tire in the back of the vehicle. Heard people steal those and was worried so ran to Amazon to purchase this!!! Good price point and very secure. It doesn’t look to bulky, but if your worried then order a tire cover to place over it. Very functional.

Strong, Secure, and Works as Advertised
This spare tire lock does exactly what it promises. It secures both the tire and the bracket, giving me peace of mind that everything is protected. The heavy-duty braided steel cable feels solid and tamper-resistant, and I like that it loops securely around the frame for added security. The weather-proof cap is a nice touch and keeps the lock mechanism in good shape, even in rough conditions. Easy to use, well built, and reliable works exactly as advertised. What more do you want? Highly recommend!

Quality product
Perfect length for the spare tire on my new Tacoma. Quality materials. I suggest to spray WD40 into the lock cylinder when instaliing to prevent moisture buildup.

No Problems
Using this cable lock on the spare tire on my enclosed cargo trailer. Works okay. Length is adequate. (My spare is mounted on the front over the trailer tongue.) No rust after four months in the weather. Rubber dust cap is nice. Lock has not been challenged by bad guys so I don't know how tough it really is, but if nothing else it should slow them or make them look for an easier target. Deterrence is half the battle. Amazon had best price and free shipping is great.

Fits 2004 Honda CR-V, but not as intended
The intended use is to put it through the lug nut hole. However, with the way the spare tire mounts on a 2004 Honda CRV this is not possible as the open lug nut holes are blocked by the mounting bracket. Here is how I was able to get it to work without a bunch of slack cable so it fits nice and tight. With the tire off you can see at the side of the bracket near the top there is just enough room to slip the cable through. Start on left side and thread behind top of left side slit over to behind top right side slit coming out and pulling out so even amount of cable is hanging out of left an right side slits. Now put tire on bracket pushing it flush against bracket. (You may have to put lug nuts on to hold it flush). I have the alloy wheel. I took the left cable and pulled it through the thinner gap in wheel spokes - there is just enough room to get it through. Do the same thing on the right side. Now join the two in the middle and lock it. It will be tight, but it can be done. If for some reason there was not enough slack you could either pull it through the left side of bracket only or work something out with top or bottom holes in bracket. You would probably just have a little more slack in the cable. The other option would be to drill a hole through the bracket where a open lug nut hole lines up and make the hole the same size. I believe this lock will work nicely.

Good length, thickness (that's what she said)
Exactly as advertised. Long enough to have plenty of cable for most applications.

I think this lock is terrific. I have a Master receiver lock on my truck, and ran into the corrosion issue. It has a rubber cap as well, and it kept slipping off. I could still open it with the key (barely). I flushed it with WD and then added a few drops of key lubricant (lasts longer than WD). I then put just a bit of synthetic grease over the key entry, closed the cap and placed it in the small size GLAD freezer bag and zip tied it. after 5 years it is still a snap to open it. This lock got the same attention when I installed it.
