Where can i just buy the columns? I can't seem to find this.

If you find the answer to this I would love to know! My kids love this track and the extra ramps but now are limited by the columns/pillar supports

Do the piacasso car trucks with flat beds run on this set

It would fit on the track, but does slip off easily since you would have to push it manually. The battery powered cars that come with the race track set work great. My grandson has both the race track set and the building tile set and though they are similar, he plays with them separately. They are both great sets. Hope this answers your question.

Do you need the risers? Will the magnet work with just the regular tiles?

The magnets in these will connect to the magnets in the regular tiles, but to make a sturdy track, you are probably going to want some risers. This set is only ramp shaped pieces, so it's best as an add-on to a bigger race track set. We have regular tiles and a full race track set...my kids definitely combine them when playing, but the ramps-with no other race track pieces-wouldn't be very fun.
