Cold SteelSlock Master / 11 3/4" Overall / 6 1/2" Blade / 3.5mm Thick

Upon receiving this Cold Steel Slock Master I was immediately impressed. The knife's heft, length and width was surprising because I have purchased several CS knives of the "bargain" variety over the years and have found them to have a bit of a cheap feel. They are all functional and sharp, but somewhat flimsy, as well. This knife doesn't have that same mediocre quality to it.It has an extremely sharp and highly polished blade that is made of quality German 4116 stainless steel. It cuts meats and vegetables quite nicely. The spine has been smoothed and polished enough to where you wouldn't be overly embarrassed to use it as a kitchen knife, should the need arise.The handle is quite ergonomic, with a substantial rubbery/plastic, yet a very easy to utilise, curved grip. For those with larger mitts I would think that you should have no problem whatsoever in manipulating it easily enough. It does come with a lanyard loop, if you find that sort of thing to be of use.Finally, the sheath is similar to the plastic types used by Mora Knives, with the same weep hole in the bottom to keep out excessive rain/moisture buildup. The sheath is not a thing of beauty but it is functional. All in all, the Cold Steel Slock Master is a solid and well thought out budget Camp knife. I highly recommend it!

Lightweight, general purpose, budget friendly tool. This isn't a $100 carbon steel 1/4 thick, do anything blade. I'd think of it as a big mora. I wouldn't baton with it, it isn't a SHTF knife. If you need a blade to use in the garden, food prep, general domestic cutting tasks and don't want to break the bank, this is a good option. Literally razor sharp so be careful opening the package. Functional mora style sheath. Overall it will take care of 95% of household standard knife tasks and if you manage to break or lose it, you won't be out a ton of money.

Larger than you think. Very sharp. Good for camp or kitchen. I immediately bought another. Price is terrific.

What a budget blade should be. I'm a traveling miner. This has become my camp cooking knife...in fact, it has become my favorite cooking knife period. Dont think that this a ridgid piece of high carbon steel. It is stainless and has a bit of flex. I like that there is not a dramatic or high angled bevel, so it cuts effortlessly through thick cuts of beef, bacon, and vegetables. Tim seems to use it for skinning out small game, and I bet it works just as spectacularly for that as well. I'll be the judge of that later this winter.The overall feel of the knife is great, nice grippy handle, very ergonomic. Pleasure to cut with. I wanted a dedicated knife for food prep out in the woods in camp. I don't really like using my bushcraft knives for food prep also. Wood sap, dirt, leaves etc. might get in the food if you dont wash the knife beforehand. Plus my scandi grind and covex grind knife doesn't slice as thin when I need it. They are great for wood craft and wood processing, but not as good for food prep, even though you can do it fine.This knife cuts meat and things like tomatoes paper thin. I also use it in the kitchen. It's the sharpest knife in the drawer! Great for slicing beef for making jerky, so thin. But this knife is tough too, can chop veggies and stuff like no one's business! This knife is hefty, has goid weight to it not flimsy like some kitchen knives are. Well made. Sweet handle.

I wanted a larger basic knife for travel, cooking and camping. Something like a Mora but bigger and still with a basic sheath making travel easy. THIS IS IT!! So basically this knife is awesome, large polished blade that came and stays razor sharp. large rubber grippy comfortable handle and a solid simple sheath. There is nothing else to say, if you are looking at this knife than you should just buy it, or maybe two, or three. Cheers!

The knife is a great size and easy to use. It's not a full size chef knife. Rather, it's like a good sized, do all prep knife. Great sharpness right out of the box. Would purchase another.
