Review: My friends and I have tried a number of different electric stoves for cooking and preparing coals for hookah (the kind that don't self-ignite). This Ahadu brand is the best. Gets hot really quickly and stays hot without constantly cycling the coils. Six cube coals will be ready in less than 10 minutes. Eat your heart out competitors! If you leave it as is, the longevity will be terrible, maybe a few months if you use it often. The last burner we had went through nearly a year of daily use (3-4 heating sessions per day) with a simple modification. Normally, the bowl where you would light the coals touches the coils ever so slightly. What I did was made said bowl slightly concave so that it does not touch the coils. The easiest way to do this was to simply turn the bowl upside down and give it a few light taps with a hammer. That's it. It's also not a bad idea to dump the ash out every so often when the burner has cooled down. I don't know if it actually helps with longevity, but doesn't hurt to try!

My friends and I have tried a number of different electric stoves for cooking and preparing coals for hookah (the kind that don't self-ignite). This Ahadu brand is the best. Gets hot really quickly and stays hot without constantly cycling the coils. Six cube coals will be ready in less than 10 minutes. Eat your heart out competitors! If you leave it as is, the longevity will be terrible, maybe a few months if you use it often. The last burner we had went through nearly a year of daily use (3-4 heating sessions per day) with a simple modification.
