THIS IS A GREAT SYSTEM!! UPDATE. . .
I did a lot of research of similar camera systems. I was looking for quality, ease of setup & use, affordability, ability to add on and most important a company that has GREAT customer service. I called Fiona Lee and left a message before I made my purchase. Soon after Fiona called me back and answered the questions I had. I purchased the 4 camera/8 channel setup of which I received. The most difficult part was deciding 'where' to attach the cameras, taking into consideration the electrical hookup. Setup was a no brainer as it's wireless WiFi.Then I got to the point of formatting the hard drive. There was an issue getting it to format & record. Working with Fiona researching through many e-mails and phone calls it was determined the hard drive was bad. At that point she immediately replaced the drive with a new one. . . that worked flawlessly!! She and her team were extremely responsive and determined that they wanted the system to work as promised.WOW!! A company that truly knows what customer service is!!Please don't be nervous about doing business with this company. They'll have your back.Thank You Fiona & your Team!!I'm sure I'll be adding more cameras soon. . .Remember there's a time difference for your communication so be patient.UPDATE: 10/15/2019ADDED NEW 2019 SYSTEM TO EXISTING ONEI was so impressed with my first system last year I decided to add more cameras. In researching this I decided topurchase the entire NEW system (cost effective) and just add my old cameras to it.The software on the NVR seems to be upgraded nicely. A very clean and crisp system and I couldn't be more satisfied. Their price far outways what is out there in the marketplace. You can't go wrong with this purchase!!ADDING OLD CAMERAS TO NEW SYSTEM:I lack the espertise to match the old cameras to the new system. . . Melody and Zack from Customer Service came to my rescue! It had to do with matching the old IP address to the new IP address cameras. I didn't want to mess things up so they offered to take over my computer and match the numbers. It's all Greek to me. .hahaI was a bit nervous about that but Melody gave me the confidence to go for it. I'm glad I did. Zack moved around my computer changing numbers around as I was watching. I felt comfortable and secure that I could see all that he was doing. One by one he matched the cameras and I got perfect video! VERY PROFESSIONAL!Thank you to Melody and the Safevant Customer Service Team!

A Few Speedbumps But A Great Product
The downsides to the system are as follows: The interface can be a bit of a chore, but it is fairly straight forward once you get used to it, the cables for using this are for setup purposes only (in my opinion). I say this because the rectifier, Ethernet cable, mouse, and HDMI cable are (about) six feet. Now for the good side. You can use a wireless mouse to control the system (VERY helpful). The 960 is much clearer than the 720, so get that one. I wanted a 'real system', as what I had used in the past only recorded only to the cloud. This uses a hard drive, and also allows you to record to the phone, send email notifications, as well as app alerts. Additionally, it is highly customizable. The booklet is very straight forward, and I have to give a thumbs up to the customer service. I did email them a couple of times, but they did send a few emails, and called twice once they had my contact information. My problem was that the Android App store actually 'pushes' you to a different app when you type in the native app for this system. Making matters worse, the app is named VERY similar. I don't blame Safevant, but the app store for this. However, we figured this out quickly once in the phone call and was able to create an account and move on. The cloud account worked very well. Very responsive. Simple interface and usable tools. It allows you to record directly on the phone, as well as use the phone to look over anything on the drive! Very nice touch. My last hurdle was setting up the email, but again it was Google that made this a pain. There are two settings that you have to know about or you would be banging your head against the wall. Having set up my Outlook I was aware of the need to change the security settings for the entire account (not just the email) as well as needing to have the port set to 587. I was told 465, and this is all over the internet. But I decided to try 587 after the NVR locked up for the third time, and it immediately worked. Within minutes I had several high res photos sent to my email. Like anything this complex it does take a couple of hours to get going, but most of this is the physical situation with putting the cameras where you want them. The company is making a real effort to give good service and this makes a big difference for me. They spent about 45 minutes on the phone with me, which is more than you can get from most companies for a product of this price.

*****Really nice quality and works well, I'll update after it's been a while but so far so good*****this is an update to my original review. When it works it great but the problem is that it hardly ever works. One camera's infrared leds quit working when I contacted customer support to ask about a fix they told me it was out of warranty (by one month) they'd give me $20 towards a new one but did not address the other complaints about the cameras not staying connected. two cameras are about 30 feet away from the base the other two are about 60 feet away. the two closest seem to stay connected better the the ones farther away and I thought distance might be the problem but when they are connected the signal strength is good (3 out of 4 bars) now the monitor connected to the base is showing a green screen but the video from my cell phone works fine, for the cameras that are connected. I'm now looking for a new system. if you buy this system my advise is do not wait to contact the company if you have a problem with your system. the video quality is great for day and night but again only when it works.
