Pretty neat tool, got mine with batteries in them already. Did anyone have to buy new batteries?

Product is a must have to verify all fiber pathways
This solved a problem for myself and organization because we forgot our light source. This is the only thing i had in my tool bag to verify the pathway for our fiber connections. Thank you fluke. I have a lot of your products as a Wireless RF Engineer. You all are rock solid company. The smallest, lightest, and the cheapest tool that i have to check a fiber pathway.

simple quick test to find an active fiber
simple and compact

I bought the wrong tool
this was a costly purchase but it does not have a light to trace fiber and that is what I was looking for.

Cheap alternative to more expensive tools
Pretty nice tool to have in your tool belt as a network admin. Simply detects light on a fiber strand. No more, no less. You'll need a more feature rich (expensive) tool to really troubleshoot fiber issues, but if you just need to make sure there is light making it through your fiber, this works great.

Useful tool
It is a very handy tool for those with little exposure with fiber optics. Helps in detecting "polarity" (transmit/receive)

This tester is simple to use and very helpful when all you need is to see if the fiber has a good connection.
