Does anyone have any real pictures of parties where these are being held by people dancing?

I bought one today and it's pretty heavy. I can't picture someone sober dancing with it in their hands. A drunk queen, maybe.

Can this device do what a Color Organ from the 70s would do? They represented bass with blue, mid-range with green & high with red, varying intensitys

Great question. JBL Pulse 4 has an app called "JBL connect plus" That allows you to change different colors and different light shows.

How many devices can you pair to it at once?

Can you make the lights static rather than turn off? I.e. use it as a night light while playing music without the lights moving with the music
