I was pleasantly surprised. I particularly like the longer sleeve that's flared. The flare does the stopping, not overly encased plastic. This makes it easier to plug into tighter spaces where another manufacturer may have recessed the jack to the point where one must have a small encased plug - or make it small by whittling it down (yes, I've done that). But not with this cable. I can't speak to wear, but the cables seem to be in something similar (if not) strong, easy-to-use non-conductive (obviously) silicone. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to put another layer - perhaps braided material over it. As for why/what I'm using it for? Hmmm. I'm not sure I want to say. I'll say only this: It's not for audio or video signals. It IS for something that detects capacitance - and since that has to be essentially "tuned" in my application, the connections need to be secure. Using gold and having a solid plug and jack allows me to us this for sensors - and for determining capacitance for non-sensing leads. If you can figure what I'm using it for, you're good. You're really good. Ultimately, with any movement that the cable has, its leads capacitance shouldn't change. Loose connections or crummy wire will interfere with sensitive equipment. I don't worry about that. Good stuff, Maynard.
