Protect the camera lens from scratches!!!
If you wanna protect the camera lens on the PS camera V.2 this is worth it. It works perfectly to cover up the camera when not in use. Another plus is if you console stream you can use this when you need to step away from the stream a bit.

Does the job
Pros: Good fit, looks like it belongs. Protects privacy while camera is plugged in and also protects lenses when closed, good for packing the camera in a bag to travel to friend's houses.Cons: Foamy cushion stuff will deteriorate after a few years, thinking of scraping that off and cutting some circles out of felt instead. Sometimes I forget it is closed but that's ok.Anybody making a camera in this day and age should provide this feature built in. Glad this product does so well to correct Sony's mistake. (Remember that Sony brought us the 2005 BMG rootkit and got breached themselves in 2014, not a stellar record.)

Small price to pay for some additional peace of mind
I bought this to go with the PlayStation Camera required to use PS VR, because I'm just not the type of person comfortable with the idea of a camera attached to a web-enabled device being pointed into my living room 24/7 even though it's turned off and inactive most of the time. This really should have been part of the camera design because it just makes sense, and I suspect it's because they don't want to instill a lack of confidence in the security of their devices that the camera doesn't come with such a way to obscure the lenses on its own. Quality is great, especially for the price which is extremely affordable at a small fraction of the cost of getting a PS VR setup (hardware, system, games, etc) in place. It integrates well with the camera itself as if it were part of the design and doesn't have the appearance of a third-party add-on, and they didn't cut corners from a quality perspective- the felt pads between under the shutter which go between it and the camera lenses which you can't see in the main picture are a nice touch and a lot of companies which cut corners would have skipped this kind of detail to save a few cents- which is one of the reasons I'm taking the time to write this review, which I seldom do.Am I paranoid that the government or a second-rate hacker is using my PS camera to monitor me? Of course not. But having this layer of added security just makes sense. The firmware and software which interact with the camera SHOULD prevent its use for unauthorized purposes and I'm sure 99.99% of the time they do just that... however software is written by humans who can be prone to mistakes, and firmware/software updates are pushed out regularly enough I'd rather not leave things up to chance when there's a reasonably priced alternative available. The odds that someone would want to remotely take over my PS camera to watch me in particular and have the ability to do so- practically nil. The odds of an oversight in coding/testing a new, undesired 'feature' related to the camera resulting in its unintentional activation- substantially higher than that. What some consider to be common sense, others would consider to be paranoia, and vice versa... but as for me the price point of this item puts it sufficiently in the common sense category. And, it looks much better than throwing a black sock over the PS camera when not in use.

Works as Advertised
Clips securely onto the camera, easy to install, flips up and down as one it should, and it doesn't interfere with the cord. When flipped up, it is fully out of view of the camera and it stays in position. It does exactly what it's supposed to and it looks like it's part of the original product. In addition to preventing spying, it also keeps dust off the lenses, which is nice. I'd recommend it to anybody who uses the PS4 camera.

Fits Great
It fits good and does what it's supposed to do. One thing I'd admit, I forgot I had it on and spent about 20 minutes troubleshooting why my VR wasnt working.. then it hit me, I have the cover on.. doh!!

Works perfectly!
It's super easy to install, you literally just pop it on the back and it goes on over the camera stand, which I was worried about initially. It's super simple and gets the job done! 👍🏾 And then when you want to use the camera it flips up out of the way (pictured)

Easy and secure
I ended up getting this just for peace of mind because a lot of times I use my PS4 for a media center and it just takes the edge off a little and you don’t have to worry about anyone looking at you not that I think anyone hood but I’d rather be safe than sorry It’s nap time very easily. It covers the camera is very comfortably. Good I recommend it. Yeah is it really necessary? Not really but it will give you peace of mind. Enjoy. Holy Toledo.[;]\1

Helps protect privacy, but very convenient and easy to use.
Works perfectly as designed, and is easier to operate than similar devices I've seen and used. I have both PS4 and Xbox One. The shield on my Xbox Kinect camera is a snap on piece, which is inconvenient and easy to misplace. This shield for the PS4 camera stays attached, and simply flips up and down to block the camera lenses. I highly recommend it to help alleviate any privacy concerns, especially if you leave your PS4 in On/Energy Saving mode all the time.
