Installation is simple, everything worked! Would have loved for a metal protector for the wire!
This item is great, worked with a JVC MK560BT including AHD video by cutting the orange cable. Quality is also very good and while as a whole might not be as clear as newer vehicles, I noticed this camera picks up more detail on the ground than even my build in camera on my newer vehicle!I only with for a few things,1. Thicker colored wires or built in connectors. The orange wire was so thin, in case AHD support did not work, it would be easier to reconnect.2. Some type of metal or plastic barrel around the first few inches of the wire coming out of the camera, this would help protect it from any tampering.....of course someone could just tamper with the camera itself 🤷♂️Very good product, no idea of longevity yet, I hope it lasts a long time!

I am super impressed with this camera
I read most of the 1-star ads for various cameras and felt discouraged about their quality and reliability. (I never know the exact reasons why some buyers have so much trouble with their purchases.) When I came to PixelMan's advertisement, I related to their experience of trying to figure out why so many cameras seemed to be failing. But in this case, I didn't have to do the work because they had already purchased a bunch of them and tested to look for possible causes. Then they said they had used a metal housing instead of plastic, had sealed and dipped the housing in waterproofing solution, etc. I already had a plastic camera on hand that came with my head unit, so I looked forward to discovering whether PixelMan's camera would feel noticeably heavier in my hand like they claimed.Sure enough, the PixelMan's camera is significantly heavier. I did not notice any areas where water might enter, but based upon the tests they had run on competitor's cameras, I got the impression that most did not have gaps when they first arrived. The problems occurred after being in outdoor environments for a while in heat and cold. I live in Phoenix, so the fact that PixelMan tried to design their camera housing to survive temperature changes was a big selling point for me.PixelMan's ad also addressed the issue of wiring with inadequate shielding. I had encountered this while researching 1-star ads for a surveillance system I had installed on my house. Some buyers had reported that they had to ditch the cables that came with their system and buy more heavily shielded cables because of signal degradation due to small gauge wiring and poor shielding. This was especially a problem with cable runs of 100 feet where an extension cable had to be added to the run. To avoid this issue, I searched for heavier gauge extensions for the house cameras, but most of the ads did not list the size gauge of the wire.Fry's Electronics was still in business at that time, so I visited one of their stores and held various brands of wire in my hand to compare the weights. One was a lot heavier (meaning thicker gauge copper wire), so I bought that one instead of the lighter extensions. I don't think that PixelMan is claiming its wire is thicker gauge than the competitors, but it does claim to have superior shielding, and that is what matters. The gauge probably isn't an issue because 10 meters of wire is more than enough to reach from the rear license plate to the head unit in the dash.I was surprised when the package arrived and there was a printed enclosure that warned not to use competitors' extension cables with PixelMan's cameras, but instead to email PixelMan and they would mail a free extension cable that has the necessary shielding for the long run. They said they would also include a free cigarette lighter USB charger. I was planning to add the camera to the rear of a long enclosed trailer, so I took them up on their offer. They mailed both the cable and USB charger from overseas and they arrived in a little over a week. I am impressed with the charger because it appears the entire housing is made of aluminum. It is composed of two pieces that thread together, which I've never seen on molded plastic chargers.I'm glad I ordered the PixelMan camera just for the camera and original cable, because it seems like a good value, especially if it is as water resistant as they claim and therefore I don't have to replace it as happens with so many cameras of lesser quality. But because I needed an extension cable as well, their free offer saved me from having to spend money on an extra cable. And then to top it off, I got a free charger that also seems of unusually good quality. Not all head units can take advantage of PixelMan's HD quality, but mine does. As the instructions say, it is necessary to cut one of the wires on PixelMan's cable to activate the higher quality. Otherwise the camera will be sending a 720p signal even if your head unit is cable of displaying a higher quality image.

Great little camera value.
5 star so far. I just received the camera a couple of days ago, so not installed yet. I have installed several backups cameras and some are what they claim others not. This unit seems to be very well constructed with good specs and a metal case hopefully strong making it more durable than plastic. The resolution is supposed to be very sharp with good night vision, also by clipping wiring to the camera you can delete the guide lines and un-reverse the image for a front facing camera. We’ll see and update if it doesn’t work as advertised.

It's An OK Camera
This camera is overall average. I would give it a 3.5/5 for picture quality, not great but definitely good enough to see obstacles etc. The nice thing about this camera is that it comes with a license plate mount and plenty of cable to run the camera. I have a full size pickup and I had more than enough cable to get from the cab to the rear of the truck. It took me about 1 and a quarter hours to run the wiring and get everything hooked up. Overall, for the 32 bucks I paid for it, it's not bad. I do wish the picture was a bit better but for the price it's sufficient.

Pixelman wiring connections and installation for the Porsche PCCM+ (and probably others).
Camera is excellent: brilliant color and precision. I did the wiring on my 2006 Porsche Boxster. This, for me at least, involved removing the back bumper to be able to feed camera wiring to the rear trunk area. (Any area where wiring/cable was going through a metal area was secured with Permatex Gasket Maker to avoid chafing.) After identifying the reverse gear/backup light wire to the taillight assembly, I carefully stripped the wire cover (about 1.5cm) without damaging the wire itself. After connecting the 4-pin Pixelman cables (one from the camera and the other the long cable which ran to the head unit), the two separate red wires were then brought together and soldered to the exposed backup light wire. Wrapped that in electrical tape. The cable then was run forward through the engine compartment and passenger compartment. I had recently installed the upgraded PCCM+ touch-screen head unit. A Fakra connector is required for the camera interface (about $10.00 on Amazon) for my unit. YouTube videos identified the correct pin hole for the 6-pin connector on the PCCM+. The final challenge (other than putting everything back together) was figuring out how to get a secure connection in the 6-pin. Amazon came through again with Car Terminal Electrical Pins. Using the smallest female pin in the kit, I soldered the Pixelman red wire (which provides current to the back up light and is the signal to the head unit to activate the camera). Some delicate crimping of the pin then allowed a secure fit in the 6-pin connector. A bit of a learning curve, but now it all makes sense. Next, on to installing the Pixelman camera in my older Porsche 911. Great project with great results.
