Super Subversive Cross Stitch: 50 Fresh as F*ck Designs

Got this as a gift for my birthday. Have been waiting for the release date. So worth waiting for. Great new patterns and some redos of some of the patterns in book one and two. The pictures are so cool, and the framing is amazing! I now own all three of your books and not sure which picture to start first. Great gift for sure!!!! Congrats on another great book!!!

I love Julie’s books. They are proof that cross stitch isn’t just your grandma’s craft. It’s funny and irreverent and makes a great addition to your home or a hilarious gift! The patterns are easy to read and fast to work up. I love full color charts and fantastic framing ideas!If you love cross stitch this book should be in your library!

Julie’s first book was my introduction to cross stitch. This edition doesn’t disappoint! The patterns are cute, fun, and whip up quickly. These are all new and different patterns. A lil snark is good for my crafty soul. Definitely snatch this up if you’re a snarky stitcher or want to be. The instructions on how to cross stitch are also excellent. This is a must have.

My hibby bought this for me as an early holiday present, along with one other from this author's series. I love, love, love the patterns. There is a huge variety, and they are simple. The author uses a basic color pallet, too, so no need to get dozens of floss colors. Highly recommend!

I learned to cross stitch from Jackson's previous book. I've tried different patterns from eBay and other books, but I always come back to Jackson's patterns. They are clear and easy-to-read, as well as wonderfully snarky. Her patterns are great for beginners, but also challenging and fun enough for seasoned stitchers. I'm already hard at work on new patterns from this book for holiday gifts. It's my most soothing hobby. Strongly recommend this book!

Fun patterns

I’ve been cross stitching for a couple of years now, and subversive patterns are always fun. Here you’ll find 50 subversive patterns in addition to charts and different tips on how to customize each pattern. My favorite pattern in the book is, “SPARK JOY OR GET OUT,” but there’s so many great patterns here. Each chart is also easy to follow for new and experienced cross stitchers alike.The opening of the book covers the basics on how to cross stitch including what supplies you’ll need and how to separate your floss. There’s even an explanation on what the different types of fabric counts are and what differences you’ll see between them. I think the entire opening is great for anyone new to cross stitching because it’s very informative, simple to follow, and not overwhelming in any way.Plus, there’s tips on making your own patterns at the end, including the name of a computer program one can use to design patterns: PCStitch. There’s different programs out there, including free chart makers, but I also use PCStitch so I’m down with this recommendation. All in all, this is a great book and I want to check out Julie’s other patterns in the future.
