Yes, this will work on bed frames with and without wheels. **Q: These used to come with tape around the outside to let bugs crawl up. Now have ridges. Do ridges work as well?** A: Ridges are better, as roaches are attracted to the smell of adhesive and glues. While fighting bedbugs you do not want roaches gathering saying "Glue? i smell glue! Yum!" The bedbugs sure can climb up rough surfaces, even painted walls. Ya reallly do not want any glue or adhesive near a bed... nope. Tape is not needed. **Q: Would it be ok to re-powder the device with any baby powder (since nowadays most baby powders contain cornstarch rather than talcum powder)?** A: TAKE CARE that you do not remove the slick surface of the inner walls on that inner ring with powders. Bedbugs can not climb up slick surfaces, they need a little roughness (as in a painted wall) to climp up. Otherwise everyone is going to know what you got. *by D***. on January 13, 2022* I was hoping these would work as advertised, but alas I put one in an controlled environment for a test and yes it will keep a full bedbug, but as it finishes consuming it's meal it can then again climb the walls and escape to feed again. Of course I saw some of the reviews where there are pictures of broken ones that frankly look like someone put them down upside down and then stuck a bed on top of them breaking the center of them, but having ceramic tile floors I had no problems with breakage. And I saw reviews where people complained about them arriving in their original packaging for all to see what you are getting, but my first order came shipped with other items so it was discreet... But when I ordered some more you guessed it, regular factory box with a shipping label stuck on it and it was delivered to my house by an associate of who I work for and that knows where I work, So yeah I was not a happy camper about that. After receiving the second order I noticed I still was not finding any in the traps so that is when I put them to a controlled test with a bug found in the bed after installation, and that is when I found that lightweight ones can climb through them, but heavyweight ones cannot.
