The waist fit was a little more snug than expected but certainly not too tight. Super lightweight and ideal for hiking.

After purchasing my 2nd pair in a smaller size I have become very impressed with the design. At first, I was put off by the side pockets loading from the top but realized this was to prevent contents from falling out when you sit down. Then I discovered the 2nd vertical side pocket with a zip securing it and I realized I had a great solution for my iPhone. I put my car keys in the flap covered side pocket and I'm good to go.The size charts for some itmes leave you with a fit too small. Others leave you with a fit too large. I ordered Xtra large based on the size chart and the fit was slightly loose in the waste and baggy in the hips but really comfortable so I kept them but re-ordered an additional in a size large

Very pleased with these, 4.5 stars (if I could do that). Here are my pros and cons:Pros: Lightweight, good fit for me (I’m 6’ 3” with a 34 waist) and the pant legs are roomy enough which was my one of my main concerns prior to purchasing. Very comfortable to hike in. Large, deep pockets. Pretty much everything I’m looking for in convertible hiking pants.Cons: Belt buckle wasn’t very secure and tended to loosen slowly while wearing (I ended up switching to a different belt). I’m fairly tall yet the zip off location is barely above my knee making the shorts a bit longer than I’d like. They have mesh pockets, which wore holes quickly on my other pants (different brand), though I can’t speak for the durability on these yet. Hopefully these last longer.The cons are all minor and won’t be an issue for me. I’ll probably be buying second pair.
