Is this a non chlorine shock?

It is not a shock treatment, it does nothing to balance the chemicals in the hot tub. It just makes the water softer so people skin doesn't dry out as fast. You need to have all your regular chemicals anyway.

The safety data sheet lists an ingredient as a "moderate eye irritant." so i guess this isn't good for exercising in swim spas without googles?

If you’re putting your face in the water for extended periods, you should wear goggles. I’ve never found it to be irritating just relaxing in the hot tub. It’s a nice product that extends the potency of spa water chemicals.

I keep reading that customers are adding chlorine with this. I thought this was to be used in place of Chlorine/Bromine...any help?

Silk Balance is not a sanatizer so you still need one like chlorine or bromine, silk Balance inhibits bio-flim so you can keep your chlorine level low around 1.5 ppm instead of 2 to 3 ppm. Also the water will feel very silky-smooth with out drying your skin.

What is in Silk Balance? I read that its a proprietary formula but what are the ingredients?

They won’t tell you. I asked repeatedly because my wife has allergies. They said, “Tell us what she’s allergic to and we’ll tell if it is an ingredient.”
