Men's Classic Hike Extra Cushion Crew

I got these Smartwool socks for my son at college in upstate New York. All the other socks we bought him over the years had worn holes quickly, so we decided to go with something we knew was high quality. These provide the warmth and cushioning he needs to walk comfortably across a snowy campus. My husband and I have used Smartwool socks for years — for hiking and everyday wear — and we’ve never worn ours out. Pros: • Extremely durable — lasts for years • Warm and cushioned for cold weather • Comfortable for walking or hiking • Proven long-term quality Cons: • A bit pricier than generic socks, but worth it Overall, these are a solid investment in comfort and durability — exactly what we needed for college and outdoor adventures.

Bought these socks to wear under my winter boots to do some snow tubing. They worked perfectly. My toes never got cold...not even slightly chilled. They never got too hot, either. It was 15 degrees F and quite windy. The cushioning is nice and thick all around, and these socks are super comfortable. Can't speak to the durability yet, seeing as how I just got them, but if they fall apart quickly, I'll update this review. First impression, though, is that the socks are amazing and I love them. I'm definitely buying more.

Will always buy smart wools - nothing ever to complain about and my husband is a full blown addict when it comes to this style/comfort of sock. He has worn them since the military and is always on his feel no matter what he tends to do - and these provide comfort, cushion, and keep his feet dry. I don't wash or dry them any differently than anything else - they go into the regular cycle. Fit is great and always stays nicely on his foot without riding down. Again, the thickness is perfect for him! He wears these year round. Highly recommend if you are on the fence and need something that will last as well!

IMO the entire Smartwool line of products is first rate! I have MANY Smartwool hiking/bikeriding socks, as well as many of their shirts (some with zippers, some not). All their products are very well made! I Have several pairs of these socks I use for bike riding and hiking, they are quite durable and wool is the thing: cushy for hiking, great when it gets chilly, and even when soaked they still work! (and surprisingly they work great in hot months too!) I'm a Smartwool fan!

High quality product that keeps your feet warm.

I didn't know it was women's; I'm a man, size 11.5 feet, I got the extra-large. It's slightly too big but allows me to wear another pair of thinner socks under it. Not as warm as I'd like, but with shoe covers and chemical warmers I can tolerate the pain for a while...down to the low ~20s (mid-teens WC). Below that I use the much more expensive dachstein austrian thick boiled wool socks, winter boots and chem warmers. I also use them skiing, same thing, not as warm as I'd like.

My husband wear and loves these socks so I bought a couple for my Dad to wear when he’s fishing in cool weather. He thinks they are super warm and comfortable so that two strong upvotes that I can confirm.

These wool socks are perfect for the cold winters. Because they are wool, they tend to stay fresh longer and thus so do shoes and slippers with which they come into contact. I can highly recommend them.
