It’s one of the best scientifically satisfying and mystically fulfilling book I have ever read on Shiva Sutras. As much as it is poetic, there’s a sense of rationale running throughout the book. Each and every doubt that the mind can raise, and even before it arises is answered in amazing translations by Swami Lakshmanjoo. Deeply greatful for this gift.

I adore this book! One to be read many times. The thoughts, ideas, and philosophies to be held within the heart. Swamiji's presence seems to come right through the text into the reader's heart and mind. This book is for those who wish to deepen their practice to Shaivism. People looking for a real and verifiable experience should read this book after reading "Self Realization In Kashmir Shaivism." Then "The Secret Supreme" and finally this one. Although I suppose you could start with this one too. But I read Swamiji's books in that order and can attest to having a real and verifiable experience with Swami Lakshmanjoo. Although, you can only verify this experience with yourself. I doubt you could verify it to others. It's a kind of subjective knowledge. But the objective is there too. And some wierdo in between subjective and objective as well. I don't know. It's hard to put into words. I think Swami Ji says it best. So, just buy the book. And you'll taste what I'm talking about!

Hurts my heart to do this, but i can only give this 3 stars. Look, i speak a good amount of Samskřitam and still found this and his next book about Kashmiri Shaivism incredibly heavy handed with the terminology. Even basic stuff like breath, or consciousness are needlessly made in Samskřitam. Also, the explanations are very old school. There are more efficient new terms that are better suited for modern times. It’s just kind of out dated, sadly. It’s a good read tho. There is always a deep level of education delivered by the great God of the Deities Mahādeva.

This book presents a loving compilation of ancient wisdom teachings and makes them accessible through plain, simple language. A must read, for sure.

This book is a precious gem for anyone who is seriously interested in the spiritual practices and insights of meditation. It has been written by one who has in simple language explained the depth of these insights. Surely only someone who has had personal experience of this beautiful path can elucidate these concepts with such simple elegance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this wonderful book, and recommend it highly.

This is great darshan, gyan. But, this knowledge is profoundly expressed in hindu cultures and our life’s in so many ways, it’s just we can’t grab the essence at the time. But this knowledge reawakens you of your own dimensions. The vedanta and kasmir shaivism are same I would say, here bramh is shiva, and concept of sakti. Shiva is like kinetic energy and at the same time attribute less bramh. Secondly , I would say, Iam so lucky to be born in this culture of sanatana dharma to live with this. If just our western brothers and sisters could grasp the essence of Sanskrit words, the words itself is so reflecting the essence of the objects that one understands this darshan with much more depth, but nothing less, english grabs the essence too. I would recommend westerners, if you read this book even you know Sanskrit, the understanding of Sanskrit words and living with it brings completely different essence . So I would say give much more time to dive in words and you will get much more meaning out of it. At the end, this is great wealth of us all humans. And I would say we should all have this knowledge and share this knowledge every one.

The soul(content) of the book is really really good. I may need atleast 10 reading to understand 60% of content. Rest 40% may need a gurus explanation for understanding. Th body(cover) of the book is very average. For price we paid for the book they should give us hard bind. The cover on the book is opening after just over a month’s use.
