THe rug we purchased was brown and it has not faded. It has however shows some traffic areas by some of the knots loosening. There are 4 or 5 places on out rug where the knots are starting to come untied. Be sure to buy the non slip mat that goes underneath the rug cause it is slick on a smooth floor.

Q: This says 100% jute but then states synthetic fibers which is it?

Mine definitely feels like jute.

We do not recommend using this outside, as it is for indoor use only.

Q: Would you recommend this rug for under a kitchen table, concerned about dragging/pushing chairs?

This rug sheds a lot so I would not recommend it to be used inside. I have mine on my covered back porch.
