Great story!
I loved the original 4 books of the series so I was happy to see that there was a new installment. I love learning more about this awesome world Pike has created. The progression from the original four books to this one felt very natural and it was fun seeing how the characters have grown. I was hesitant to read this thinking it would mostly be about Rowen and I would not get enough of Laurel and Tamani but I thought there was a nice balance among them. I hope that this is just the first book of a spin-off series because I feel like I was just getting to know many of the characters. My biggest complaint (although not about the content of the book) is that this book should have been advertised better. I just happened upon the book when I was trying to reload some of my old purchases onto a new kindle.A smaller complaint is that there were several noticeable typos throughout the book. Hopefully those are corrected before the paperback comes out!Overall, if you loved the series, you will love this too.

Awe inspiring
Words are inadequate to describe how amazing, and wonderful, and fantastical this series is. Every book is a new challenge and a few take of the fae world; each chapter more intense and breathtaking than the last. I would recommend this book to all who love faeries and big adventures.

Everything I wanted it to be!
Oh. My. Goodness. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THERE WAS A NEW BOOK!?! I read the series in highschool when it first came out and just now learned about the addition. It has always been my fav Fae series. It was everything I could of hoped for. EVERYTHING. Yes this was Rowen's story but there was still plenty of Tamani and Laurel to make me very happy. At first I didn't like Rowen, but I imagine that was a bit on purpose. Through the book you get to see Rowen change from basically a spoiled snob who was upset because she lost her special status (i know, I know! She saw her mother killed right in front of her, I tried to give her some credit but she made it pretty hard!), to a well rounded young wom.... plant. And you start to realize it wasn't because she lost being a special Summer Fae but because she didn't feel like she was special to anyone in the world. And you watch her learn and blossom. (not literally, emotionally). And by the end of the book you are happy because there aren't really any loose ends and it DOESN'T END WITH A HEART WRENCHING LETTER (still not over David)

Really good fun book!
I have read all the books in this series and was happy to get to read a story about Rowen. Arabesque takes place about 12 years after Destined ended. I really enjoyed reading it and loved characters from the series and getting to meet new characters in this book.Tamani and Laurel are living in California and are waiting on their sprout to bloom. While getting back from a trip to Avalon they find out that their niece Rowen, now a teenager wants to come to California and live among humans. She is involved in ballet in Avalon but wants to study ballet in the human realm.I found myself laughing at and feeling for Rowen at the same time. She has to learn about everything in the human world. Not just what things are called but also how everything is different from what she is used to in Avalon. Rowen is a wonderful ballet dancer and is quickly accepted into a prestigious ballet dance school in San Francisco. The book mainly focuses on Rowen at her ballet school. We get to meet some new characters from Rowen’s school. I didn’t really like Megan at first but as Rowen got to know more about her I came around to liking her more. Mitchell who is Rowen’s dance partner was a fun character and made me laugh at times. Shawn was a fun love interest for Rowen. I really like them together. We don’t get to see much of Laurel and just a brief glimpse of Chelsea as the story is mainly about Rowen. There is some other things that happen that could potentially affect humans and the faeries in Avalon. This is something that involves Tamani, Rowen, her friends and even someone from Avalon that I was shocked to see. I don’t want to give anything away so that is all I will say about that. The last part of the book was the most action packed and had some twists and turns. Overall a really good book that I enjoyed reading. I wish there were more in this series or even a spin off with Rowen as the main character.

I read the series back in high school and this was a great way to end Tamani and Laurel’s story.

Great Read
Having read the rest of the series I was thrilled to hear that Aprilynne Pike had written another. Arabesque did not disappoint, and I found myself unable to put the book down for long. A great addition to an already fantastic series, and I will live in hope for another.

5/5 for the fifth book!
As someone who loves and re reads the original four books, this new one does them justice and is just as easy to read and get lost in. It was fascinating to see the world created in the first books expand!
