This review is for the new version. I bought 2 used versions that did not power on. The light is bright and adjustable. You can adjust where the light shines. Takes up no desktop space but does use a very modest amount of floor space. Each side can be adjusted to different light intensity. It is a sleek design and melts into the background.

I love the compactness of this lamp. I use it for lighting up my canvas when I oil paint and I don't have enough natural light coming in. The base is thick and heavy enough to withstand the movements I do on it when swiveling the top part of the lamp so that I can position it where I need it. I like the gooseneck part of the lamp, that will twist and turn every which way I need it to go. The lights are not straining on my eyes. It's a soft bright white light.2/23/2024: I would like to add that there is a NEGATIVE to this lamp. Upon thinking about what happens when the lightbulbs go out. So... When the bulbs burn out, there is no replacement bulb. YOU HAVE TO THROW AWAY THE WHOLE THING. (This is a $71.00 lamp in the trash until the bulbs burn out) The little booklet in the box even states this, and I just read it yesterday. There are no replacement parts. I should have thought about REMOVABLE OR REPLACEMENT LIGHT BULBS. Had I known this prior to buying, I would have not purchased this item.

Altogether straightforward lighting for my needs.

When I got my light it didn’t come with instructions. Maybe because I got it used. It doesn’t seem used at all except for the missing instructions. It was pretty much a no brainer to assemble. My only issue was trying to figure out how to turn it on. I was looking and looking for a switch on the cord or the base. Boy did I feel dumb when I finally saw the touch switch at the end of each light. But then I thought it was way too dim, but I accidentally touched the on/off switch and it brightened. In other words, assembly is a cinch but I stumbled through working it without instructions. It is quite bright, adjustable and the white light is perfect for painting!

I did not open and set this up and I’m two couple of days past being able to return it and when I got it put together, it did not turn on at all

I have been eyeing this light for a while at the art store and decided to finally treat myself to a decent light for my oil painting studio. I had been using a gooseneck Otto-light, which left a lot to be desired.The nice thing about the Daylight DUO light is that it is very bright and perfect for making sure colors are accurate. It has two separate lamps that can be moved to cover a large space and adjustable neck that is great for moving the lighting where needed. It is easy to move and seems pretty sturdy. I work on large paintings and am constantly moving it around.Some negatives: I don’t like the way it turns on. I always have to count four taps and I sometimes accidentally turn it off when I am moving the light which can be annoying whilst I’m right in the middle of working. The pole part of the stand seems a little bit flimsy… time will tell how well it holds up. Also, the lights are not replaceable, which seems wasteful as it’s a nice light and will be rendered useless when it burns out. Though LED lights do last a long long time. I use mine for probably 8 hrs a day or so… we shall see how long it lasts.

The quality is much better than expected. The base is heavy so it feels stable. The touch control for the 4 brightness levels is cool. The brightness is very good. I'm very pleased with this lamp.

Great light. Most like daylight and the feature of just touching the bulbs to make it go brighter is fabulous. I use it in my art studio and now I have two!. I went back and bought a second one to be over the second easel. Love it and great price compared to the ones in the art stores that hook onto the easel. This one has a very solid base and doesn't take up much room on the countertop.
