Awesome tool for removing nails from pallets
Someone happened to leave a few pallets near my house, and decided to dismantle them. Problem was there are a ton of nails in pallets. My bar and hammer slots were too large for these small nail heads. I read somewhere that a claw bar is the perfect tool. Whoever said that a claw bar is the tool of choice is right on. This is a solid tool with a nice grip. Some of the nails did stay in the wood when the heads snapped off. You'll probably need to rip those out with pliers or some other type of tool, but I'm very satisfied. The "L" shape of the tool was great for removing the nails, and the other end was great for lifting up the boards from the 2x4's.

Little tool that could
It is smaller than I expected but works great to get into those tight spots a hammer can't go. If you are putting enough pressure on this to bend it then you are using the wrong tool. This is why I also bought its big brother, the crow bar.

Ideal size and profile for most jobs...
This claw bar suffers from the same complaints they all do. "Why can't it be ground thinner? The end is sharp and pokes holes in softer backing material. It's too short! Why is it so long?" I found that the FMHT55010 is my favorite size/profile for removing buried nails in the approximate 2 inch size range. It lacks the leverage of a longer bar, but I'd say that unless you're pulling screws out of a mostly intact substrate, the problem isn't with the tool... The rubber coating will probably quickly wear and be irritating until it falls off, but I prefer this bar to the Estwings and Dewalt I have of similar style. And it costs about half as much, so if it falls into a river, or gets left at a job, it bothers me less

Keith's Review of Stanley FMHT55010 FatMax Claw Bar, 12 in
Typical Stanley Tool quality, a trusted tool maker in US for some time. Shipped quickly and well packaged. Needed by myself to remove some fencing.

Seems to be well made.
Claw end was bent a little.

works as intended
Better price than Estwing, very similar design, flatter on the top end and I feel this makes for less denting on wood surfaces when pulling nails. Full time carpenter, use this daily. Seems metal is as hard as Estwing as well, this should last a long time.

Great tool - I wish I bought one a long time ago
Great tool. This has worked out great on fixing up my deck. Great quality. And, it came fast.

Got the job done
I rebuilt a fence and decided to keep the old posts which were full of nails- this got the job done although it did deform slightly, and I wish it were about 2" longer.
