This is a great filter replacement at a fairly good price. There are a few tips that I will share to make this a good purchase.1) When I first installed this filter, I found the product to be of high quality. There is a foil mesh liner that provides good support to the filter, just like the popular brand. The main filter material seems to be of the same quality as the popular brand as well. This filter also has a outer fabric, which I guess is to provide better wicking properties. The problem with this outer fabric is that it restricts air flow, which slows in the evaporation rate.2) Improve the evaporation rate by cutting away part of the outer fabric. You can see in my photo, after using this filter for a couple of weeks, I let it dry out and then I cut away 50% of the outer fabric. With a little care, you can slowly pull away part of the outer fabric and cut it off. I removed two sections, leaving behind about half of the original material. The evaporation rate is now what I had with the name brand filter. I have always made it a habit to flip my filters over two times a day to improve the wicking properties-did this even with the name brand. Doing this you will likely give it a 5 star review.3) I have been using a additive to my water to prevent mold build up, also did this with the name brand filters. BestAir Humidifier Bacteriostatic is what I have been using for several years and it work great. I got it from my local Ace hardware store for $6.99 and one bottle will likely last you a couple of seasons. Support your local hardware store and buy it there, plus it was cheaper than getting it on-line. I also use a old pump soap bottle when I add the liquid, and I figured it take me two or three pumps to get just the right amount. Test out what amount you need and you will find this method to be clean and simple.FINALLY - Yes I will purchase this item again...using the water additive, three filters will likely get me through the winter in my area. These are extraordinary filters that exceed the quality of the original Honeywell filters supplied with the humidifier.Honeywell changed the quality and construction of their filter sometime during 2015. The original filter had a blue paper layer on the outside of the filter to trap dust and provide structural integrity to the filter. They worked quite well but are no longer available.The filters that Honeywell currently sells do not have the blue exterior filter and are inferior in structural integrity. The accumulation of dust in the filter and mineral content forced into the filter element results in less water absorption. Eventually, they implode under low humidity conditions when the filter becomes dry.This Exact Fit Part replacement part includes a fabric layer filter (white) to the exterior of the filter to trap dust and adds a metal mesh layer to the inside cone of the filter to maintain rigidity. The white paper layer is equivalent to the blue exterior filter that used to be present on the Honeywell replacement filters.Now my filter is always wicking water, staying damp and maintains shape even under duress of high humidifier speeds during low humidity conditions.I've restored the desired humidity levels to my home I used to enjoy with the original Honeywell blue filters at a price well below what Honeywell is charging for the inferior replacement filters. The exterior dust filter works like a charm and keeps the inner filter clean so it can absorb water at a higher rate.Highly recommended. Incredible to have this great quality at such a good price.

I have used a TON of different brands of filters over the years with this humidifier. None of the others hold a candle to how well these work. They have a thin aluminum ring layer in the middle, giving it a firmness. This filter is the only one I've ever used that actually gets wet all the way to the top CONSISTENTLY. No dry spots to be found, even after the water runs out and it shuts off. They fit perfectly and consume the greatest amount of water (read: high evaporation/efficiency) of any filter I've ever tried. Not available Prime, but the seller shipped very fast and I had it in about 4 days. For the quality and value, they were well worth the wait!

I use these filters in my HW 6011 whole house humidifier.I never got my hands on an *original version* OEM HW brand filter, which included a layer to clean the air, and by all accounts was far superior to their current offering. The reason a company begins selling an inferior product is usually $money$, but I needed details, and wanting the best performance and function out of my humidifier, I set out on the hunt, for many months, trying to find answers and hoping to find the best filter available at an appropriate price. Along my travels, I got my hands on some real DUDS, and I also discovered that apparently HW changed their design so that the single size filter would fit more model$ (at the expense of those who purchased 6009-6011 humidifiers.) Well, Im happy to say my hunt ended here.Theses filters are thick, stout, absorbant, reinforced, and resistant to the nasties. They are superior in all ways to the current OEM filters, and they are better priced as well. They include the air cleaning layer that I have to guess is similar to the original OEM design. I cant yet tell you how long they last, but Im guessing theyll last at least twice as long as the OEM I received with the himidifier, which with careful handling lasted me almost 4 weeks running constantly.I wish this review had been here for me when I set out on my research as it would have saved me a lot of time. Buy confidently, as the hard work has been done.
