An amazing guide book for life
One word: WOW. This is a really great guidebook for living our lives fully. I'm a fan of Dr. Christiane Northrup and when I saw her being interviewed by Oprah on the OWN channel, I heard them talking about her new book. I got it on my Kindle right away and I have loved every chapter. Northrup has included a ton of information in this book such as shedding light on health topics, and not just the mainstream medical views that are forced down our throats every day. I've always had a gut feeling they don't know all the facts about cholesterol, breast cancer screenings, flouride in our water, etc, and Northrup confirmed most of my suspicions. I have been exasperated by doctors and nurse practitioners who can only follow protocol. They go on health studies and statistics that, I was told recently by an older physician, are 10 years old by the time they come out to the public! Most doctors feed you only the information they are told to feed you, and that's scary because many people think doctors are gods and know everything. I am a big proponent of alternative, holistic (meaning WHOLE) health care and you will see some of those ideas presented in this book as well as common sense ideas like exercise and healthy eating. The only criticism I would have is that the book's title is a bit misleading as much of the material could be found useful by men as well.

What a wonderful read! What impressed me so much about this ...
What a wonderful read! What impressed me so much about this book is how well Christine wove the medical in with the spiritual and how well they tied together. With that being said, I left one star off because it never completely hit the target for me. But before I get to that, I have to give immense credit to the wealth of knowledge and inspiring encouragement that Christine offered with every page of this book. She will always invite you to consider what is not working for you and tips and ideas to step in a new direction. She never preached her message but rather offered supportive stories and years and years of research and experience to back up her suggestions. You will find in this book that nothing was left out. Every part of the woman is addressed in this book from diet and sex to medical conditions stemmed from a belief system, to engaging in a spiritual practice that gets you in touch with your inner wisdom. She adopts the philosophy that every medical condition is rooted in a belief that is being manifested in the physical body. Along with that, she will offer up ideas and inspirations to help you get on the path to vibrant health ... if that is truly what you want. With all that being said, I found some of her information to be contradictory. Let's not forget that she is a medical doctor with years and years of scientific, medical training and experience. This is an impressive presence she offers to the reader. The part of her teachings that I found contradictory was in the "Belief" part. If she believes that your thoughts create your experience and your body, then perhaps that same philosophy could be applied to our thoughts about diet and exercise. She will preach good nutrition, diet and nutritional supplements to build a healthy body and then turn around and tell you that your thinking is what is creating your lack of an unsatisfactory life. I'm not saying diet and exercise are not important. I'm inviting one to accept that they do not create good health. They support if you think they do, but you can be vibrant, alive, healthy and full of joy without them. I wonder ... if it's what we put into our bodies that creates the body of our dreams and the experience of our dreams or ... if it's our thinking that makes it so. I know I'm getting philosophical here and perhaps digging just a little too deep but heck ... I'm a goddess and I get to challenge anything I want and adopt any teaching that supports where I am at on my spiritual path to my ageless self. I loved this book and will recommend it to all of my "Goddess" friends. It's a good read, very well put together and a lot of fun to consider new ideas and possibilities. Get it ... you'll surly grasp a lot of nuggets that will support you as you embrace your "Goddess" self.
