How long do they last?** A: Yes you will want to stick it near the base of the bush. They seemed to last about 4-6 weeks on my plants. And my roses have never done better. **Q: can it be used for rose of sharon** A: They are not quite the same type of plant. Jobes makes an all-purpose spike, which is what the rose of sharon is supposed to get. I wouldn't over fertilize either, since it will promote new growth, but not necessarily blooms. Now is a good time, early spring. **Q: Can this be applied with the initial Spring fertilizer timeline of roses, or should it be used separately (later)?** A: You can use in spring by itself . . .I would not recommend combining with additional fertilizer. The stakes are large and depending on the size of the roses, you use more than one for each bush. **Q: Do these work on knock out roses?** A: I feed my Knockouts 10 10 10 and they look fantastic. Ordered 4 packs more recently. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow directions for terrific results *by C***R on February 28, 2023* NB: I've read the negative reviews and suspect some folks are overfeeding while others are not placing the spikes in an appropriate place. In addition, I would not use these (quite large) spikes in containers, but would use small, flowering plant spikes or just use regular granular rose food. More info: My roses are planted in sand and are watered through flood irrigation. Regular rose food would wash away during irrigation. These spikes work great and have made my roses the envy of the neighborhood for 20 years. Tips: Use the number recommended on the package based on the size of your bush, place the spikes halfway between the center of the bush and the edge of the bush, and drive them into the ground. (If a root blocks the spike, try a slightly different location.) Space the spikes evenly around the circumference of the bush. The spikes will feed your roses wonderfully for three months at least.
