Will these keep my feet warm in sub zero ND winters (sometimes -40 below zero) out hunting or snow blowing?

No single pair of socks alone will keep your feet warm in that kind of weather. But, if you put one pair on and then put a gerbil (or other small warm-blooded animal) in each sock of another pair and then put those on, then you should be OK.

Only sizing available is s/m and m/l. i am a woman's 9.5 us.... which of these two to get?

I'm a size 8 (woman's size) and the s/m fit me perfectly. with maybe a little extra, but I'm assuming some shrinkage. So I'd get the m/l in your case. These are great socks - for the price.

Do these cause feet to sweat?

I have used these socks for about 2 weeks. No sweaty feet, just pure comfort and warmth. Weather has ranged from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 62 degrees hope this helps u. BTW I have never suffered from sweaty feet. My need has always been to Keep warm
