No fuss hanging of pictures and artwork using picture rails!
I moved into an old house that has picture rails in almost every room and hallways. Not wanting to put holes into the plaster walls. I was looking for a better alternative to hang and display artwork and pictures.I found these and decided to give them a try. This picture hanging system is the way to go if you have or installed picture rails. This product is strong and very well made and supports my heavier, large artwork with ease. Installation and hanging of pictures only takes a few minutes. The hooks easily slide up and down for quick adjustments and once set, they stay put! The cables are more than long enough for 8 - 9-foot ceilings and the excess can easily be coiled behind the picture/artwork. I really like the minimalistic look against the older woodwork in my house.I am very satisfied and will be definitely purchasing these again!!

Worked surprisingly well!
I needed a way to hang artwork in an office that won't let me put holes in the walls (grrr...), but has something like a picture railing (but not really) extending along the top of each wall. I figured these we worth a try, and I could always return them if it didn't work. Minimum risk. Turned out they work great! I did need to DIY it a bit. There's no lip at the top of my railing to hook the top hook over, so I just squeezed up the two prongs at the top of the hook so they could dig a little more directly into the top of the "picture" rail--the weight of the artwork keeps the weight on them, and they hold up just fine. I guess in an earthquake they *might* not hold as well, but if there's an earthquake, I'm not going to be worrying so much about the artwork in my office. The adjustable hook that slides along the hanging wire to hold the artwork was very easy to adjust. Didn't have any problems with it at all

Wonderful picture rail hangers!
I was delighted to find this obscure kind of picture hanger! I have a house that was built in 1911 and one of my rooms has rails that require these hangers. They work perfectly and I was so glad to find them!

Easy to use, but chunky hooks don't fit every frame.
The hooks are pretty wide, and smooth all the way down with no kind of lip the way the tip of a tail has. Because of this, two of the four picture frames I wanted to hang didn't fit on them. They work fine for frames with a wire in the back, or most ones with a triangular / "D" ring. But it doesn't work with many frames that have a little metal tab with a hole in where you perch the nail (metal frames often have this). And it's also bad for most frames that have the little zigzag metal tab (unless it's left popping out much farther than usual). The system is really easy to use though. No tools required! You can move hooks upward freely without having to push in the little ring, which makes it really quick to get the hook roughly positioned at the start. And it was easy to to hang two frames from the same wire: just remove a hook from one wire and thread it onto another wire below the existing hook.If you don't want the excess wire hanging down below the artwork, you'll need to roll up the excess in loops to hide behind the frame and add a spot of tape to keep it from unraveling. Hanging systems that use nylon plastic "wire" instead tend to stay curled on their own without needing any tape. Sometimes it does look nice to have the excess visible hanging straight down though - ymmv.Last note: crown molding profile shapes vary, so if the crown molding attachments that come with this don't fit securely, buy a couple others to compare. These wires can go onto any crown molding hooks you find.
