They seem to be fine I recommend a hook holder of some kind as they can be fiddly to sharpen if you are holding them in your fingers.

Keeps me sharp
Great pocket sized file. I use it to sharpen my jig hooks as I fish the rivers near by. Confident it won't be the hook point that lets me down if I'm using one of these!

Brill little tools
I use these for rounding the end of jewellery wire - sterling silver and surgical steel - better than using a cup burr and certainly faster. Can also sharpen things but that isn't what I bought it for. :)
