**Q: Is the covert black x version a refurbished version? what is the upc?**
A: It is not refurbished. Don't have the UPC.

**Q: Seems mine did not come with the backup key. am i missing something? not sure how i can open and set it up without the key to open the first time.**
A: Suppose to have a key. Contact them and they may be able to send one. They have good customer service.

**Q: What is the difference between the covert black, and the covert black x? does the manufacturer’s 3 year warranty apply to both?**
A: I look into it and it appears that the covert black is a newer style and has the same features. The difference is the covert black x is polymer and the covert is ally sreel.

**Q: Is the covert x an older generation of the safe ? Hence that’s why it’s cheaper ?**
A: It may be an older generation of the handgun safe to secure your handgun. I have three of them and use them all the time. They are great for storing your weapons and other small items(credit cards) when traveling and staying in motels.

For a $60 safe I would say it’s a great value. I only give 4 stars for durability because it is plastic so if someone wanted to break into it they would get in but its better than a handgun left unsecured in the car.I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old and now that they are getting good at climbing and opening things it’s not worth the possible risk to my children or anyone for that matter if it’s not locked up. This fits my needs perfectly. Small enough to be easy for travel and camping. Fits in a small bag and for me came with everything in the picture. Also nice to put my ID CPL and a debit card in when I don’t feel like having my whole wallet.That being said I purchased this for a Glock 19. It fits well with a spare mag I have extra foam in it so it fits snug but has plenty of room without the foam.I did order 2 more 4’ cables from their website for $15 each and have one in each vehicle. So I can have it locked and secured in the vehicle if someone was to break a window. Again if they wanted in it and have half a mind for how tools work they will get in. But it can prevent a quick B&E and keeps my curious children safe.I also purchased a $30 Apple AirTag and threw it into the case. It’s not exactly a GPS but I live in a city where lots and lots of people own Apple devices and it seems to get pinged pretty regularly and you can set up notifications on your phone. So if it was to grow legs I would have a window of time to track it and get location data to the police. Not the best option but much better than nothing.
