Oxbow Essential for Jon Boats
This thing is awesome for my use! I use it on a shallow (1-7’) oxbow lake. It holds my 14’ Jon boat even when the water is 5’4 and the handle feels like it doesn’t have much bite in the mud below. It just works. I was in 7mph winds this morning and it just held me in place. In the past I wouldn’t have even gone out on the water. The included rope is a nice touch and compliments the stick well. I have the 7’ version and it works well in up to 5.5’ of water (you have to account for the mud below the water.). No more fighting the wind with the trolling motor - just stake it and start plugging the shore line. It’s turned my little Jon boat into a fishing platform. The one caution, loop your rope around the T-handle a second time as it can come loose and slide off. It “almost” happened to me. It’s an easy fix and not an issue unless your handle is underwater.

Good product
Works great for a 20' boat

Works well and very handy
Bought this to use on a 15’ Scout fishing boat in shallow waters hoping it would be easier to deal with than a normal anchor. Works great, hold great as long as bottom is soft enough to allow you to stake it in properly. Price was good. I recommend it if you are looking to anchor in shallow water and minimize boat movement. I may get a 2nd one so that I can totally lock in location and position of boat for fishing when needed.

I would recommend
Suit it all the time. Only issue is that can only be used to anchor in 5 ft with hard bottom to work properly. Otherwise perfect

Great, just wish it came with a float
On my second one, unfortunately, but this a great pole. I use it for my kayak as a push/stake pole and it does great. I highly suggest adding a float to it...

Buying another
Holds the boat in place even in strong tides. Do away with the anchor and take up less footprint in the water. Easy to install even without a mallet

Indispensable tool for shallow water fishing
I bought this March 2023 so have now used it for 3 full seasons. I have a 16' Carolina Skiff and frequently push very shallow to fish for reds or striped bass. This has become an indispensable part of my kit. When fishing, sometimes the wind or current push you along too fast or in a direction you don't want to be pushed, and it takes just a few seconds to get the anchor pin from the brackets, attach the cord to one of my four cleats (one near each corner of the boat) and drive the pin into typically soft bottom. It rarely fails to hold the boat in that position, which exceeded my expectations. It's very well built, great quality. I no longer carry an anchor as the anchor pin is a much better fit for the type of fishing I do. I also carry the Superstick 6-12' push pole, another really useful tool. Picture shows the deployed anchor pin holding us in perfect casting position in the outgoing tide.

Light and durable
I have the 7 foot model (shortest) and use this product all the time. I’ve used it in tidal mud flats, inlets, rivers, and lakes. It’s lightweight and tough. Handle is nice. It anchors well in most cases . Doesn’t work well for rocky bottoms.. Some boats may need longer models for their application. I almost lost mine, so I put a small float and a ss clip on the included lanyard. Good product.
