What is 2-fold and what is 3-fold?

2-fold just collapses into one long closed umbrella. A 3-fold has a hinged rib and folds in half after you collapse the umbrella and the handle slides up into itself (telescopes) to make a very compact umbrella when it is folded. I am probably not explaining it very well. Hope this helps a little.

Question 2

Doe anyone know if the grey liner is really grey; the two-fold appears to have a beige liner whereas the three-fold liner looks silver?

The liner is black.  Take a look at the side panel of photos  that show different views of the umbrella.  Click on the one that shows the underside.  It is black.  I purchased the gold umbrella as a gift for a friend.  It is gorgeous and definitely gold on top, but the liner is black.  I have read that black actually deflects harmful sun rays better than white.  I am not a scientist, so I don't know that for sure.  But that is the purpose of a parasol.  It is supposed to protect you from the sun.  Hope this helps.

What is the length of the rod?

I don't remember. It broke the third time my niece used it. The mechanism that held the umbrella open, wouldn't stay up. I couldn't figure out how to repair it. By that time, it was too late to return it. Really, really sorry. It was elegant and beautiful, and my niece loved it, but it was actually too fragile, so I didn't order another one. {:-(

Question 4

Any issues with the parasol turning inside out in high winds? The 3 fold seems more likely to have problems in high winds compared to the 2 fold

I really don't know if parasols are more wind-resistant than umbrellas.  Anyway, we gave this as a gift to a friend moving to another country.  It is definitely beautiful.
