Buyer beware. The written content is great. The font chosen by the publisher of this book is so small it is impossible to read. Why was the font size reduced 50% from readable size, then 50% of the page left as blank white space? It would have been 5 stars if it was readable for more than 3 minutes.

This was a lovley book to read not to technical but well balanced and paced, I thought the chapters flowed into each other well and at times I couldn’t put it down. Maybe the only thing missing is an updated version for 26 hint John.

The book is well written, with the typical for Cunliffe sense of humor. I give 4 stars only because of the print design. It uses a quality thick paper, but...pages are too shiny and with a very thin styled font... If reading at night, be prepared for shiny pages with unclearly visible text and reflections.

I found this very enjoyable to read with good information written in easily understandable language. Definitely recommend to get it if you are into sailing! Maybe it is not the "most complete" book out there, but let's be honest... Can there ever be a "complete" book about sailing? I guess not ;) A big THANKS to Tom Cunliffe for this entertaining, comprehensive book on all things deep ocean sailing!

With his larconic wit and salty repartee, Tom Cunliffe brings the ocean life to life. Some great tips from a sailor who has done it all. Best of all, it is not just a re-hash of his many other books. The book is most definitely pitched at experienced sailors with some absolute gems for passing your YM Offshore/Ocean contained within. But some may well find it a little hard going given its pitch.

Tom Conliffe is the most sensible practical sea man I have read, authoritative, but carries his authority lightly with a good sense of humour
