Another good read by A. American
Loved this book. Getting out of the city during a financial collapse gave a different perspective than an EMP or viral pandemic. I always love learning new info

Great book. One asinine assumption!
From the fertile imagination of Angery American, another great yarn! Most of his books are 5 stars, no doubt. His narrative is so pleasant, it makes on continue reading until the end. Situations encountered and actions taken are quite believable. The chapters are very real. One MAJOR screw up, though. As the book was written in 2016, the presidential election was not finished yet, the author assumed that Hillary had won! What a faux pas!!!! For a guy who seems to understand Americana, yet he believes such a poor, baggaged mean bitch, could possibly win the election!Maybe he was listening to all the fake news' push?Too bad. It takes from the greatness of the book.Manny Gutiérrez, author of "This Time" (LifeRich Publishing, 2018)

I liked it even when I didn't want to...
I really like this author, but when I realized the story was a worst-case-scenario for Hillary Clinton's presidency, I didn't want to like the book. A. American writes so well that I had no choice but to like it anyway. I finished the whole book during a night shift at work.Politically, I disagree. I believe an EMP strike is possible. I believe our government acting against us is possible. I never believed that Hillary wanted our guns. I am a gun owner but I support regulation for who can & can't own guns. Frankly, I think our non-fiction future under Trump is way scarier than any book I'll ever read.I'd both love & hate for A. American to write a worst case of the things that can go wrong under Trump. It would keep me up at night. He'll need to do it quickly though... with Betsy Devos as Sec. of Education, the ability to read may diminish in future generations...

Could not put it down! Very timely happening!
I love the A. American GOING HOME series, so when he wrote this one I had to give it a read. It is as good or better than the GOING HOME books. I hope it will be another series, I need to know what the characters are going to do next. The setting and happenings are spookly like some happenings on the nightly news these days. I almost wondered if he watched the news and the wrote. The people remind me of some of the people in GOING HOME but they are more of a blend of a few characteristics. There is one of the main characters that still has a bit of sheeple outlook, but fortunately there are some sheep dog types keeping watch and helping him and the group get through the issues that arise. I will be recommending it on my FB page and to my friends and to you. If you liked GOING HOME at all, this may be even better. Do read it. But, start when you have time, I didn't get many house chores done today as I could not put it down.

Half a great book and an average second half
I had kind of given up on A. American. I enjoyed Going Home but thought the series got silly. This book seems topical enough to be different so I gave it a try and it's half a five star book and then a three star second half. The economic collapse and the setting of people surrounded in a fortress like bank was compelling. This was a unique view for this type of fiction. The action was claustrophobic and the ways in which the group survives is interesting.Once the action moves to the road, it becomes a meandering series of checkpoints, meal recaps and inane juvenile humor. There is very little climax to this story and again, as in other A. American stories, saviors with Apaches and Abrams tanks save the day and Feds are buffoons.Still, a worthy read for the price.

Good read... but predictable.
The characters are developed quickly and adequately. The story line has promise but the story itself was predictable and drawn out. Also... the all-to-familiar brand-name name-dropping is tiresome. I love that this book was written with Clinton as the next president... the author is skilled with regard to self-sufficiency but demonstrated no confidence in the American people to elect Trump. Was he anticipating defeat with the American public racing to the liberal trough or was he hoping Clinton won just to validate his beliefs? Doesn't really matter, if you lean to the right like I do, you will enjoy this book as much as we all enjoyed the Going Home series!

Entertaining
An entertaining adventure story. Characters are pretty believable. Situations are believable for the most part.

Funny..
Interesting story where there's no global disease, no aliens, no meteorites, no tsunami, no EMP bomb. no solar event, no religious fanatic terrorists, no global killer... but a simple reality that seem the nearest scenario possible... economy crash down! Funny... note that the author had expected (as many) a Hilary Clinton win at the 2016 presidential LOL !
