I wear rubber barn boots every day, all day, year 'round, and because I go through a pair of boots every three to four months, I don't spend a ton of money on them. (Yeah, I've tried the high dollar rubber boots too, and they don't hold up any better.)I'm in and out of them a bunch of times every day, so I buy them one size larger to facilitate the off-and-on (especially in the cold weather).These wool felt insoles are indispensable for a good, comfortable fit. They take up the slop in the oversize boots, and I put two in each boot. They'll be a little tight (but not uncomfortably so) for a couple of days, but they'll form-fit to your feet very quickly.Even with two pairs of socks in the winter, they still provide an excellent fit - and I can always take one of the insoles out if the socks are too thick.Short version: These are good - real good. Get 'em, you'll be glad you did.Addendum 11JAN15: Liked 'em so much I ordered a set of size 8s for my wife's GI Bunny Boots. She says that they make the boots more comfortable, provide extra cushioning and help keep her toes warmer.

I chose these for their thickness and they did not disappoint, though your mileage may vary due to internal shoe/boot dimensions vs sock thickness etc. These are extra thick, but just right (with some trimming) to fit the inside of my work boots with just one layer of wool sock and still leave some wiggle room, and my hope and expectation is with a little compression/compaction they'll settle into the perfect fit. For the uninitiated wearing boots outdoors in cold weather, you want sufficient insulation from your socks, but also sufficient space to move all the muscles and bones of your feet to ensure blood flow/supply, and the extra insulation between you and the ground that this type of wool insert provides is an easy trade off for me vs multiple layers of foot stifling socks. Since these came as a pair I put the other set into some aging house slippers with a little adhesive on the bottom and made em' almost as good as new!

I have bought these a couple of times and have been extremely pleased with them. For example I bought a slightly larger size cross country ski boot and put a pair of these in them and now my feet are toasty warm and I no longer need toe warmers. Being wool, they also seem to help with moisture control from perspiration. I have also used them in slippers and in boots. Very pleased each time. The two things to be aware of is that they are quite thick (approximately 5/16 inch thick) and they are flat. The thickness is very good for insulation and is part of the reason I really like them but it may make your shoe or boot too snug if there is not some extra room. Also they are flat and do not provide any support, such as arch support, although they will conform to the support beneath them. Bottom line: they are high quality thick felted wool with lots of warmth but don't provide arch support in and of themselves and may make your footware too tight if there is not room for them.

Got a couple of packs of these. One size 12 and one pack size 10. Great insoles. My husband used one size 10 and cut the other one down for me to a women's 7 and we put them in our snow boots. My sorel boots were supposed to be to -25 but we went ice fishing and my toes were cold. When I added this insole, that did the trick! I can go out ice fishing all day and into the night and no cold toes. It is definitely nice to have warm feet when it's cold out! It also did not bulk up my boot, I still have plenty of room for my feet. But sorels usually have extra room in them, even though I didn't have any room left for length. My toes were close to the end but he cut the felt so it didn't go up on the sides at all. I don't double up on socks either. Ever. Cause it restricts my feet and is so uncomfortable. But these insoles added comfort and warmth to my boots!

I have purchased these before and use them to absorb sweat and help to keep my feet warm. I use these with acrylic socks that help to keep the feet dry so the cold has less affect when out side working in the snow.

These are very comfortable in my work boots. Very thick insoles that conform to my foot and provide warmth and comfort all day.

Cut to fit. Lasts a few months and needs replacement. Comfortable until compressed and worn. Worth the price.
