will it work for 29 inch x 2.5 mm wheel size?

From my experience, I have put the 26" tire on a 26" rim. A 29'er is just a 700 rim with the 28 cm wide tire option. The question that said it would not work seemed out of context. They were commenting from the standpoint that they had a 27.5 tire and rim and that the 27.5 tire would not fit on a 700 rim. Which would be true, but who would try, a 27.5 tire would be to big for a 700 rim. Read Sheldon Brown to understand rim sizes. You just need to understand rim sizes to understand a 700 tire on a 700 rim, it works.

Will this fit a 29 X 1.95? I have a mountain bike and am looking for a something that approximates a trainer wheel.

I have a 26" mountain bike wheel and replaced a 26x1.95 tire with this slick. Haven't done in road riding yet, but expect no problems.

Where can I find a thickslick for a 80mm rim?

As far as I know they do not make one that size
