Very Good Motor For Its Price
Very good motor for its price ($114.99 sold by Amazon as of this review). Everything worked as it should, and I've had no problems whatsoever the 5-6 times I've used it over the past 2 months. The ONLY thing to consider is that the stock propeller blades don't seem as sturdy compared to something like a Minn Kota stock. Very minor issue, and don't get me wrong, I was still able to go through thick weeds and vegetation. If anything, you could replace the blades with better ones. The total cost (with motor at $114.99) would still be considerably less than the average 45-pound thrust motor.

Make sure you buy a quality 50amp breaker. Awesome trolling motor unit!!!
Great size & value. Runs a long time off two batterys for a 12volt unit. Pushes my 1964 16' Alumacraft Yukon close to 3MPH. Perfect size.

Decent Motor
So far so Good... used it the other day on 12 foot Row Boat loaded out for fishing with 2 people... performed fine ...plenty of power.. not all that quite...Battery life seems decent when using Marine Battery 27DC Everstart. Ran most of the day on Motor setting 4 and 5 ... getting to and from fishing locations ..switched to my Spare Battery towards end of day , but still had juice in Everstart. The stock prop works great for chopping through an occasional patch of lily pads.Steering is smooth.Would recommend to someone looking for an upgrade from a 30 lb Thrust.UPDATE:5-27-2014, Motor started making noises on last trip out , sounded like lower end .When it would get hot (I presume), it would start surging almost to the point of stopping.Rest it and it would run ok...Almost stranded me. Had old Minnkota backup with me Thank God.Received RMA from Amazon going to swap with another... Hope this one is better. Also noticed Battery terminals were getting very Hot With Motorguide... did not do this with my old Minnkota.I will adjust my Ratings as needed after checking over new one...

should have bought another minn-kota
inexpensive....made in China (my bad for not checking better).Works okay but quite a bit louder than my previous Minn-Kota.Just needed an inexpensive backup...and that is what it is.Cheap plastic propellerI do not think it produces the thrust it advertises. At top speed...way to noisy.

Breaker Required
A breaker was required on the positive lead from the battery to the motor. I felt that if it is required it should have already been part of the equipment that was purchased.
